Valentino Rossi fit for Phillip Island despite test absence

Valentino Rossi will be fit to ride in next weekend’s Australian MotoGP race, despite withdrawing from a vital 1000cc test at the Jerez circuit today with a hand injury. The 32-year-old was due to ride Ducati’s GP12 in Spain but had to withdraw with a left hand injury picked up when he crashed out on the first lap of last Sunday’s...

Yada yada yada

Chris, we've heard this crap before. Ducati had a world champion and they didn't listen to him. What utter ass water, of course they listened to him, they just believed that they would find the solution with the frameless cf bike. The ducati is fundamentally flawed, it has a narrow range of circumstances that it works in. Clearly preziosi believes it can work and refused to drop the concept. Stoner gets sick of it and leaves. Ducati resort to hiring the only other rider they can trust to solve once and for all is it the bike or the riders. Turns out it's the bike, Stoner is a one off talent who can ride around the ducati's problems, but less and less effectively as the competition closed down the ducati's power advantage. Hence ducati's now having to catch up on 3 years development in 1 season. And preziosi is still trying to tinker with a concept that has failed so badly that if he was a honda engineer he'd have commited seppuku long ago, leaving Rossi taking the flack for JB's comments-which have been largely misinterpreted by a lot of people on this site.

Rossi's broken a finger? I guess now he'll _never_ pull it out, eh?

Rossi’s broken his finger? I guess that will mean he’ll have even more trouble pulling it out, eh? If you would love a return to the days when real men raced a Grand Prix on the Isle of Man, read ‘Riding Man’! This is a great, true account of an everyman’s dream of racing in the TT. It also covers the history of the TT as the British Grand Prix in detail, and describes the circumstances under which Grand Prix regulars boycotted the TT in the early ‘70s. Suffice to say, back in those days a broken finger was not newsworthy. is this a sign that Rossi is confident in the GP12 he needs the test time to sort the duke out! I mean look how Hopper rode in BSB and his finger was proper fucked!  im probley wrong, but if the duke is as shit as it is surely he can do a test with a broken little finger!

Chris

In those 4 years he racked up more wins than anyone else (and probably more race crashes) however proved to be exceptionally fast, posses incredible throttle control and shows that he never feed his wife...

Not true bud. He gave her a sausage recently ;)

Jerry burgess is a god in my eyes and its got him completely stumped. What does that tell ya??

It tells us the fairly obvious - that Jerry Burgess isn't a god, designer or engineer and once the problem extends beyond bike set up he's stumped. Race mechanic, cre chief, however grand the title, doesn't hold the status of one of the former which are gained through years of study and qualifications.

I'm not disputing his record as crew chief, but a god... don't be so bloody stupid. He has no engineering solution for the Ducati and could just as much lay carbon fibre or extrude aluminium as he could fly unaided.

Telling Ducati they need a Deltabox frame is hardly offering an engineering solution. It's called copying someone else's design.

stoner lovers

rossi is missing a test on the ducati because of an injury and the stoner lovers are creaming there pants .

the usual retards keep saying the duke was a winner at the back end of last year.so what the honda and yams have improved more than the duke...and if you say rossis qualifying lap or race time was faster than stoners of last year they say..better tyres.

as pointed out countless times the duke has been falling behind year after year and stoner was the rider giving the feedback.4 years on the duke .1st 2nd 4th 4th..now look at rossi on the yam that he gave feedback on and then his team mate won title on it.
