Im with you on the safety issues, but in truth the organisers can only make crashing safer  in terms of bigger run off areas and keeping the fences back from the track. If we look at the last fatality, which was Shoya Tomizawa last year, the impact which killed him was as he slid along the track surface and was hit by 2 other riders in the same manner as Simoncelli today. There,s not a lot that can be done to eliminate this type of crash unfortunately, even in a relatively small field like moto gp.Can you imagine how bad it could have been if it had happened in 125 or moto 2.

As for the safety question

Remember 2003, when the world lost another future world champion Daijiro Kato? Since then Suzuka has not been used for GP racing.. In that crash it was the track design, not enough run off, that contributed towards his death.
On this sad day, the crash that took Marco could happen on any corner, anywhere!! I don't think there are any safety improvements that could change the outcome of such a crash.

A black day :upset:
