cant get over it !!!

I watched it live on BBC.... my eyes couldnt believe it when I saw his helmet spinning across the track.... Ive never seen that happen before..

I flicked it back and watched it again just to understand what happened.... and I dont think Edwards or Rossi could have done a damn thing..

It is truly terrible...Moto-GP will be a worse off without his talent and his personality...

I know Rossi and him were mates...and I feel fro Colin and Vale too... I read on the BBC web-site that Steve Parrish reckons Rossi may even retire because of this !!...

Im sure that this accident will be thoroughly investigated, but whatever the reason....we all know that racing bikes is a dangerous sport....

I just pray that something positive in Moto-GP will come out of this !!...

RIP Marco

RIP

Genuinely feel upset and gutted at the loss of such a great racing talent today!

Thoughts go out to all of his family at this very sad time.

On the safety side I have to say that I don't think much could have been done to avoid it. In many ways it is a freak accident similar to the one where we lost Tomizawa. Any amount of run off will never stop this kind of accident.

RIP Marco....

Marco

Stunned this morning whilst watching the race, I knew immediately it was going to be bad news. I've seen many leave us in racing, I've competed and been a fan for 20+ years, never have I felt this way for a racer though. The lad was an extraordinary talent, brimming with character and a far cry of many of today's GP riders.

I'm 100% sure he would have been champion within 2-3 years, RIP Marco, keep the cables stretched up there fella.

He was my absolute favourite and will be known as a man who rode with his heart. For me, motoGP won't be the same without him.

Marco. Such a sad loss. Gone but certainly won't be forgotten. His talent and ambition to succeed will live on.

My heart goes out to his family, friends and fellow fans.

have you looked at the crash frame by frame

The bike does everything it should do but Marco does not seem able to respond. The video footage from behind just doesn't seem right. As he is going into the bend his body looks lifeless, It is a crash that happens time after time and yet here there seems no response in self preservation. It's non nonsensical. Has anyone had similar thoughts?

The thing about looking at it frame by frame, is that you lose all sense of perspective of speed.

He lost it, tried to hang on and save it, but unfortunately that led him across the track into the path of the others.  It looks odd to see him in that position, but really, we've all seen similar things many times before, but with different outcomes.  Had he been going across the grass hanging on the side, it would have been one of those funny out-take clips.

Thank goodness it is a rare thing to have an outcome like this.  My sympathy goes to all affected.

yes I fully understand what you are saying, it just seems you have to justify such a terrible outcome for what should not have been. God only knows, also a helmet coming off is not the norm either. How does that happen? It is just a rarity.

Just a terrible run of events
