Valentino Rossi: “Some big problems remain.”

Valentino Rossi admitted Ducati still has to make huge improvements to its new GP12 1000cc bike after he made his long-awaited public debut on a new twin spar aluminium chassis in Valencia today. The nine-times world champion completed 71 laps on the new frame, which Ducati hopes will give Rossi and team-mate Nicky Hayden more front-end feeling. He set a best time...

Rossi

Here we go, moaning again!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing's right!! It's all the bikes fault!! Give it a rest, we've heard enough excuses for one year. The best bet would be to dump Rossi and Hayden and give someone else a try who is willing to "wring it's neck"  as was already commented. RDP and Hector Barbera r Karel Abraham would do a lot better, I'm sure!! and they wouldn't be complaining every 2 minutes and making excuses for a poor performance, Next it'll be the engine. When is it all going to stop?? Bring back Bayliss, I say. He just got on with it, something that Rossi now seems incapable of doing!! Ciao

Accepted  -  I didn't say differently

But this is the 2012 design and it will be the basic design that rolls out for the first race. Today's bike may be the series 1, MK1, call it whatever, but it is the 2012 bike. The fact that it will change in some ways is not a point of issue. It will, of course evolve, as will any new bike, but the basic frame design now seems established as the twin spar.

The only other option is continuing with the GP11.?? and that now seems unlikely.

Ummm...

Just what if the problem was the frame - and - just what if the problem was also the engine. It is possible that both are not the way they need to be? I think so.

Just because one of the many riders (Stoner) had some success on the thing doesn't mean there aren't multiple problems with it. If it were flawless Stoner would have dominated on it every year (possibly).

Vale knows how a MotoGP bike should handle. So far the Duc ain't it. If Ducati is smart they will keep making major changes until the thing works like it should. When it does, more than just Stoner should be able to make it go fast. That will make everyone (except non Valentino fans and sponsors) happy. Myself included.

Go Spies!

2012 bike

This must be the 2013 bike then or is that the one he will race or is that the year he retires ? There is already a new generation in town in the form of Lorenzo and Stoner,And another one was on the way ,Now sadly gone in Marco Simoncelli, this is from a grid of only 15 or 16 riders if it was a time of full grids it would be even more evident,Rossi's time is passing and thats not a dig or a detraction from what he has achieved but simply life,Everyone seems to forget that Lorenzo and Stoner were beating him before he switched to Ducati,It has just highlighted the situation and hastened the decline,We all hate seeing our hero's or our favourites fall from grace that is understandable but I doubt even the closest in the Ducati camp will listen to his negative input much longer ,Harsh ? maybe, but fact

right then, explain why barbera is 0.3 seconds slower and Abrham is 0.6 seconds slower than rossi on the same bike, all the ducati guys were using the same bike today with their colour schemes to help speed up development...., do you think they are not tying or something, just going for a leisurely Sunday ride?fuck me. some people.
If rossi has past it ,then barbera and abrham have no hope ,because they are slower than someone who has 'past it'. they might as well pack in now before they become 'past it' because they will be even slower..... i don't mind comments that slag of a rider, but you must have good reason and some substantial evidence to back up your point of view.

won't happen

why are there so many people still thinking that anything will be different? An entire year was wasted !! Use your dome! Thats huge,, and only a very few of us accepted the fact VR simply can not adapt his style to the Ducati (see Toni Elias on the subjet of re-inventing a rideing style - Fail) And even more pathetic is thinking Ducati can build a Japanese bike. It's 50/50 half rider and half bike coming together perfectly to make a run at a championship. Both Ducati and Rossi will never be one together. It's a currently proven fact.

I agree with earlier comments that maybe they should try another rider.. even hold open auditions with the first rider to lap fast than Rossi a million $ and a contract.

Or just piss away another year in mediocrity liek this year. Those in the know,, know this to be true. The GOAT needs a YamaHonda to win agian. Don't hate this post until its wrong. Shoulders, Ankles, Front ends, Carbon Fiber, Twin Spars, Narrow Twins are all simple delays,, I'm done waiting,, I hope I'm wrong but I get the feeling that I won't be buying the beers,,

time to watch a vintage YamaRossi race video to remember excellance squared..

Don't forget Stoner has been nowhere in getting the championship in his last two Ducati years because the bike just wasn't up to the standard of the rest. Also don't forget that Stoner came off every other race due to losing the front end and this is the exact issue Hayden and Rossi complain about. A young Rossi would have pushed this bike to wins like Stoner did. Stoner always looked like he was going to die after each race on the Ducati cus he pushed it so much. An old Rossi cannot afford to crash so he wont be pushing a bike he isn't comfortable on like he did in his young days. If Rossi has a crash and breaks a bone then that is the end of his career at his age. Rossi has the talent, he just doesn't have age on his side. He proved towards the end of last year after getting over his injury that he still has the speed when racing Lorenzo and Stoner in the last few races.

Rossi was never as fast a rider as Stoner is, Stoner would have a couple more world championships if he had been on a factory Honda or Yamaha rather than the Duke, I 100% guarantee this.
