New meeting place for Brussels protest

MCN’s Brussels protest ride now has a new meeting point. At the request of Belgian police, riders will gather in a prestigious park opposite the European Commission instead of outside European Parliament. The new meeting place is Jubelpark, Parc du Cinquantenaire, Brussels 1000. Find it pinpointed by the green arrow here: Those arriving at the original meeting place will be...

they win or have they

So our once open rallye is now a bunch of bikers parking up in a park  while 100 are allowed to go for a ride round the block woohoo im so glad we live in a democracy where we have freedom of choice and freedom of movement ........

what we need to do now is get even more people involved so we can fill the park and make a show of numbers then about half 3 we pack up and all head for home(where ever that maybe)hundreds of bikes hitting the road at the same time will be a very big protest ride

Agreed by someone who doesn't know Brussels?

Nicely done Belgian Police. Shuffling a group of bikers to a car park outside the motor museum, out of site and sound of the commission, where no-one will spot anything out of the ordinary is pure genius. 100 bikes riding around the block will make hardly any difference to Brussels at that time of day. Place du Luxembourg is, at least, visible from the parliament buildings , but MEP's venturing out to hear from a small group of bikers? Really?

Riding round the Schuman roundabout for half an hour or so would be much more fun and much more visible (though probably more hazardous, from experience). I suggest a respectful but firm re-negotiation.

100 bikes...

How many of us do they think are turning up?  I think they could very well be overwhelmed come Tuesday when we all head there... :-D

Waste of time

You'll be wasting your time and money, if no one turns up, they'll do it, if thousands turn up, they'll do it just to annoy everyone and say 'look at us, we have power and will tell you what to do' so you'll be screwed either way.

And you are alredy being stomped on by being TOLD to park else where, and, just one hooligan doing burnouts and wheelies will kill the whole demo stone dead.
