Scott Redding thrilled with Kalex race simulation

Scott Redding might have topped the Moto2 timesheets in Jerez last week but the highly-rated British teenager was also thrilled with a final day race simulation on the new Kalex chassis. A best lap of 1.42.9 secured the Marc VDS Racing rider top spot at the end of the three-day test. But it wasn’t his pace for one fast lap though that...

Yeah yeah I know

its far too early to be getting excited and making predictions. But! for the last couple of years Scott has started the season with all kinds of issues, and then come on stronger as the season has progressed. If he can start 2012 with a competitive and consistent bike, then it really could be his year. Bring it on!

Power to weight

Scott needs all the help he can get riding against smurf sized riders, in any class. Power to weight and rear tyre problems seem to be his hurdles. It could be too early to tell but if you compare what he did against the winning times from Jerez this year it looks really good (not forgetting it was an dank overcast race).

But race distance, on a bike that doesn't make him eat up rear tyres like this year, I'm very hopeful.

the real Elbowz

Oh to be 18 again, I really, really do hope Scott Redding turns that style into the Moto 2 crown. Elbows dragging is the new black.

Hoping that Young Mr Redding can turn off season speed into summer success this year. he was a top tip for the title in 2010 but it all went wrong early on. Its a good team on a proven chassis. Here's to a good 2012 and hopefully some wins!
