Changes to MOT standards as per other EU countries

Hi there,

I have registered bikes in Lux and France and note that their equivalent of a MOT requires fully homologated parts to be in use, for example one bike I bought had a recent UK MOT but failed the Lux one due to non homologated parts and also different rules on tyre tread, min all the way round as opposed to at least a proportion of the tyre. I know that in Spain the testing is also for fully homologated parts.

Is this something that it due to come into the UK, e.g. the recent car MOT changes, as it would surely impact on bikes with certain aftermarket parts. At the moment there does not appear to be any information about any such changes but these things do have a habit of appearing rather too quickly.
