We’re sorry to report that MCN’s Senior Web Producer, Tom Cambio, 24, was tragically killed on the way home from work on Wednesday. Tom was riding his Suzuki Bandit 650 and was in collision with four vehicles on the A605 near Barnwell in Northamptonshire. Police are appealing to witnesses to the accident. Tom

Many a fine human being has gone that way and many more will. We are all a lot poorer and the world is a colder place for their passing. My deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and friends. I hope the compulsory silencers, helmets and hi vis lobby are happy the products of all their draconoan measures were wortjwhile, useful and appreciated for all the difference they made....

R.I.P. Tom.

Always a very sad and upsetting loss whenever a fellow biker is taken from us. My condolences to all Toms family, friends and colleagues. Hopefully witnesses will come forward and help with the investigation. http://www.northants.police.uk/default.aspx?id=9018&datewant=yes

Life is short

Sorry to hear of your tragic loss, we also lost a colleague last week on the roads en route to work and its affected us all in a big way. I also lost a family member to cancer since xmas. These events just serve to remind us how precious life is and to make the most of what we have right now and enjoy every day as best we can, which is probably why many of us ride bikes in the first place - it might be risky and some people think its selfish, but getting out there and getting stuck in is what lifes about, enjoy it while you can. RIP Tom.

Another sad loss

Thoughts are with you all. It's devastating to lose a friend or colleague in such circumstances.

To Tom's parents Tony and Elizabeth, sister Aless and girlfriend Claire and MCN colleagues and friends I send my condolences. So sorry.

I lost my father to prostate cancer 2 years back. Different circumstances and a different age I know but I know what you are going through.
