250bhp from new Ducati GP12

The new Ducati GP12 that Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden will give a public debut to in Sepang on January 31 is producing around 250bhp. The power figure was released by Karel Abraham’s Cardion AB Motoracing squad, which claims the 2012 power output is a 15bhp increase on the GP11 800cc machine that Rossi and Hayden struggled on so severely last...

2011 pre season testing - 'Rossi? yeah he's sandbagging for sure'
2011 Qatar                         - 'he'll get that bike sorted by mid season and be challenging for wins'
2011 Midway point           - 'the carbon is the problem, once he gets the ally chassis he'll be sorted'
2011 Aragon(ally)             - 'erm .. quick! bring up his past achievments'

... and it's been the same ever since. I think we all get by now that Rossi has 7 titles in MotoGP. Cheers for reminding us though, im pretty forgetful. It's funny that it's the only thing that can be bought up to try and make Stoner look bad.

The fact is though, Rossi couldn't ride half as quick as Stoner on the GP11.

I hope your forgetful also, because it should be remembered that since 2006 Stoner has more wins, poles, points, lap records, front rows ...... oh, and all on what is suppose to be the shittest bike on the grid.

Sepang1 can't come soon enough.

Oh, and Valentino .. make sure your not too tall for the new bike before the 15th round okay ?

Viewing in Latrine Number 27

get you to see the CF shittty pig named GP 10/11. The father that raised this piece of shit in none other than Milky boy aka, Casey Stoner.

He abandoned this piece of CF shit after trying hard with it for 3 years. Alas, his skill set was not up to par and the CF shit pig was abandoned, as it got worse with each passing year, never winning a World Championship.

All the brown stained Milky panties brigade can not convert to the orange panties brigade in order to follow a vomiting Milky boy.

it is or it isn't? plus, 'packaging issues'

So, MCN, is it the bike Nicky Will ride or not? You're saying Abraham's got the November 2011 bike, the specs you've given are based on that, but Rossi and Hayden will actually be riding a 'radical revamp' of that? (Not that it seems likely Team Haydossi would get a less powerful bike than Cardion.)

As for packaging issues: why not get around front clearance by transverse-mounting the engine and attaching a shaft drive like a Moto Guzzi ;-)

Does 'shit pig' translate into something less daft in whatever your native language is?

Thanks for the info Chris

Yes I get the impression Preziosi has gone down the aluminium twin spar route through his gritted teeth, at the behest of - Rossi? Burgess? Management? All three probably.

I should well imagine the engine has been rotated backwards if only because being of a longer stroke there would've been front wheel interference issues otherwise.

It is apparent that the Preziosi / Rossi love fest has also soured markedly since their initial eulogisation of each other at the end of 2010. Expect to see Preziosi continue to fight his corner if results still do not come.

..choice quotes

so VR doesnt expect miracoli - 1,5 seconds is a huge gap to regain from Honda and Yamaha.

In a recent interview (this week not any of the last year stats and trash you all seem to drag out) he outlines the situation, the interview then disucsses the 2012 bike with 'Prezious' Preziosi

The work VR outlines on the 2012 project focuses upon making the bike more user-friendly for riders and mechanics stating "quando loro sono in difficolta', lo so anche io" - when they are in trouble so am I. He continues to explain that the 2011 year was difficult for all especially JB who was used to working the off season on major changes then refinements through the 'active season' (11 being the opposite with major changes happening at the track).

He continues to explain the differences between the Japanses and Italian factories "Per le esperienza che ho,  quello che manca in Ducati e'... un po' di esperienza" - I have a lot of experience and what (we) are missing in Ducati is a little experience. He explians that the Italian factory do not have the depth of experience that the Japanese have and this is an area Ducati wish to recover.

Regarding tech details he states "credo che oggia sia possibile realizzare una moto vincente utilizzando un quattro a V di 90" (he believes its possible to create a moto which can win using a V90).  This is a view backed up by Prezious who explains "Credo che il V di 90 sia la schelta migliore" - I believe that a V90 will be the best choice. He continues to explain how he feels it offers the best equilibrio between wieght and power and is not (restricted by the requirement of) additional elements to reduce vibration.Prezious concludes that the V90 is a great solution but judging by Yamaha and Honda - its obviously not the only solution for engine configuration which will win - rather its down to the overal balance of packge (moto) and team (experience) - reinforcing the need for Ducati to develop internally.

Regarding the VR statement of 'ahhh now I am comfortable' (much lawded by Nostro as proof of VR's incompetence lol) Prezious speaks of the changes between 11 and 12 with the 11 bike being wholley unflexible, that is fixed in most ways and the fuel tank being one of those elements. Through reworking the frame of the bike, seating unit and the fueltank they were able to find a better balance for the riders (note plural). HOwever this point is obviously contentious for him as he jibes 'even though we changed this the times did not improve so maybe the problem wasnt that....' implying it could have been imagined by VR.

So... its clear not is all happy in the Prezious/VR camp however they recognise the challenge is based not upon the V angle but rather package and experience to use it within the team.

Sorry, I havent insulted anyone.

You got it Nostro...

The all red love-in is heading for divorce and the barbed comments are coming through. If the bike isnt hot out of the box then Prezious will state riders cant ride and VR/JB will claim the package is unfriendly.

So who is right, the designer of a one rider/winner bike (exclude Capirex for his japanese 07) or two old boys?
Whether VR or CS is better or worse is simply a pale bullshit arguement for the thong lovers, and the real mind-games will be in the Red Garage this coming year

Anyway look forward to next year. If all the bikes are like that then it should be quite a spectacle. Perhaps an organic recyclable bamboo trellis frame would work. milkybar. The only problem with your fine and eloquent analysis that it was Stacey, after having criticised the trellis frame for being inconsistent (not enough to make him fall of apparently) and his insistence on needing a stiffer frame that led to the cf frame in the first place. Also the foresight to keep that requirement when then control tire was introduced. Shat I think on his employer, shat up the bike then left. He also currently not explain why he and other keep falling off and not performing on the cf framed bike, So he jumped off instead. Before cf frame 8th, 1st, 2nd, after 4th, 4th leaves.

Thanks again Chris

Interesting reading - it is much appreciated.

Sorry still not buying the seating position line though. Seat, peg, bar relationship measures are stock standard fare, even down to club racing level for some. Burgess most certainly had these figures in his little black book from Rossi's HRC and YMC days. This is the place all riders start from before even getting on the track. It wasn't until very late in season 2011 that Rossi started this "I've never been comfortable on the thing" line.

So you're telling me that whist Corse turned the D16 inside out and upside down 2011 not once did they think to accomodate Rossi in a manner more acceptable to the man on the back of his requests? Again we're only talking a couple of centimetres here and there. Not really a significant engineering challenge to make such subtle changes. After all racers have been doing cut 'n' shut jobs on tanks since forever. And this is MotoGP for christs sake. I honestly doubt the validity of Rossi's statement. Another attempt to deflect attention from his own failings onto Corse.
