Alvaro Bautista keen to make 1000cc MotoGP debut

Gresini Honda rider Alvaro Bautista says he is eager to understand the performance of the new generation 1000cc MotoGP machines when testing for the 2012 world championship campaign kicks off in Malaysia next week. When the former 125GP world champion made his Gresini debut in Valencia back in November, he rode an 800cc RC212V. The Spaniard has never ridden a 1000cc prototype...

mental strength

My enquiry was of a scientific nature. Being in possession of a medical degree, although not practicing in anything very related to psychiatry or psychology, I was merely wondering about your methods for assessing riding errors caused by mental weakness vs bike deficiencies.

Touched a nerve?

"The same old names charging in to defend Stoner"

Which would be fine if I was defending Stoner... but he's big enough to defend himself... he says some things I wouldn't in his position but then I'll never be in his position. Milky asked a question which was answered then he tried to back out of it by belittling the results in the answer. Your post is you "judging by some of the recent comments" i.e. your opinion, which, obviously, you're entitled to... any opinion I'd have would be as speculative as yours so not really worth arguing.

"Touched a nerve?"

Nope, you did that when you claimed Rossi had actually got 6th in 2011 (which was really 4th)... remember?... you apologised for that one so all is forgiven if not forgotten... all you're doing at the moment is devising spurious suppositions about every aspect of Stoner's personality which I'm not particularly keen on myself... see the difference?

Correcting you when you say something that is actually wrong (Yamaha 2003 anybody?) isn't defending Stoner (as he seems to dominate your posts at the moment) either... it's correcting you on what has actually happened... & in return I get insults... "Get a life you ponce."...?

The way I figure it Wosi

the only people I see Stoner polarising are you and a couple of other degenerates on here. Hardly sleep losing stuff for the world champ.

Difficult to say how he will go really as there was no way of guaging the performance level of the Suzuki with just one rider on it last year.

It's not a factory spec bike so not too much should beexpected. His initial targets would be to beat the Tech 3 bikes I guess. Then there is the set-up of the bike and a lot may depend on how much Honda allow them to make any changes Bautista wants. I remember Chris Walker saying they wouldn't even let him change the footpeg positioning on his 500 when he rode one.

Hopefully, he'll go well and if the Suzuki really was as uncompetitive as we think, he could be pushing for 4th places?

As things stand, Lorenzo and Rossi especially have him stitched up in the testicular fortitude department and he knows it

Did you watch Laguna from last season ? as for the mental strength i'd be more worried about someone  doesn't know their limits, and runs off track while attempting an overtake.

I would agree about Rossi though, you must have some huge balls to even attempt to be competitive with that Ducati. Not big enough obviously. Remeber everyone saying 'no need to take unnecessary risks while the bike is shit' haha. Stoner, no bottle ? Don't make us laugh.

AB or not AB..

If Alvaro was in a Work`s team,I reckon he`d do quite well this year. But he aint and he won`t.There is no doubt he is a classy rider but when Randy jumped on the Suzy, for a day,he showed what could have been, with his fantastic speed. And riding a bike for the 1st time is never easy,{ ask Stoner }, it`s such a shame he`s been down-graded to CRT.           As for testicles,I reckon Rossi`s are like raisin`s by now !

Good luck Alvaro, just hope he gets a 'full' factory bike at some stage, though I suspect as the ducati gets sorted all the riders will have to adjust their aspirations...

Me beeing a Simoncelli/Haga fan? No matter what i will still love motorcycle racing. But what's up with Honda not giving Alvaro a full spec RCV? Obviously Supersic and Gresini racing had a factory ride sorted for 012. I guess it mus't be the difference in marketing? Sic was of course verry loved in Italy and the face of San Carlo crisps. Alvaro's problem is J-lo and Dani are proven race winners and both Spannish, with Marc Marquez and my new favorite rider Maverick ringing at the door as well! Still this is no excusse for Honda. It's hardly any extra effort at all from HRC to give Avaro a factory bike. Down right speed? I rate Alvaro only just under Marco. But race distance with the 21 litres of fuel? I reckon Alvaro could do better than Marco. For me this is the nr 1 fail this seizon before it's even started.

Carloslavado you are right, marketing and politics are issues but Alvaro will not enjoy the promises Marco received because even Honda are experiencing financial restraints.
