Alvaro Bautista impressed with Honda electronics

Alvaro Bautista reckons Honda’s electronics are so well advanced that when he made his RC213V 1000cc debut in Sepang last week he felt slower than Suzuki’s 800! The Spaniard finished ninth with a best time 2.01.384 that left him less than half-a-second from the top six. The Gresini Honda rider said: “The electronics are absolutely incredible. My feeling on the first two...

Nostro..

The Rimutaka's have changed a bit in the last 20 years, some of the 'hairier' bits have been slightly straightened, mainly on the Wellington side. Still a road where local knowledge is everything! Have been utterly trounced many a time by inferior machinery, to my great shame.....

The dirty mongrels

did that to the deviation from Hamiltown into Raglan which used be be my Sunday morning head clearer.  Sedatish in the morning on the way in and sharp as a tack on the way back. 100k round trip.

Then again sometimes the Ministry of Works gets it right like the Kaimai Rd from Tauranga to Hamiltown. From tight bumpy and nadgery to second and third gear sweeping - all seventeen of them - up or down dual lane heaven, despite the trucks. The old Guzzi left a lot of sidestand there.

The worst abomination of a road works that I've seen though was a slight kink in the road from Darwin to Alice in the N.T of Oztralia. The fuckers were moving heaven and red earth to straighten this (in their eyes) anomaly. Bob and his tassled GS1000L must have thought it heaven though.

motomatters sucks

There is just as much insight on an MCN thread, albeit diluted by the entertaining banter and occasional trolls who are easily ignored.

And how come David Emmett manages to refer to the deletion of comments as a "Stalinist Purge" yet no-one bats an eyelid, while Nostro refers to Marco Simoncelli as being dead and all of a sudden there's a deluge of outrage? Stalin's purges resulted in the deaths of about 6 million people in appalling circumstances, not the death of one person doing something they loved.

Wosi, what's happening with Mallory park? I'm always keen for some track time, slow as I am, but not if it's a "let's settle this once and for all" willy-waving fest.

Learn your culture.

Nostro, you fkd up with the your comment, take your medicine. Just cause I could do a steady lap of your country during morning smoko doesn't mean I'm gonna take the piss out of it! btw, wine is for poofters...  and europeans.

MCN regular posters

It's been set up since last night wosi, I posted the details on the Rossi thread coz I figured that everyone would be there, it seems the love-in was on here instead. ne'er mind, MCN regular posters PIN 1214. I'm proposing you have to select riders you like and not who you think will win and also no team changes allowed. If anyone agrees/disagrees or has any other suggestions then let me know.

p.s I have no issue with nostro's comments and I think it's the honesty that smarts for some. If someone had asked me at various points last season who I thought might run out of luck soon I know who I would have said. That opinion would have obviously only have been based on what I saw on and my past experiences and sadly, in this case, would have been right. It's not wishing harm or hating it's being a realist.

Thank you Jamie

Precisely. The last thing I want to see is ANY rider crash on track, let alone what happened to Simoncelli.

I'll enter the comp when my fuzzy Aussie red wine induced European (I'm in Germany Bob) head clears.

Do a lap at smoko eh Bob. You know riding in N.Z means negotiating corners?

Changes

The no change idea was indeed because of  Mr Birt's example and I thought it might open it up a bit, the idea being that if a rider doesn't score then tough luck (like in real life) because it's a marathon and not a series of sprints. It's not decided and if it's agreed it's a crap idea it'll be dropped. Any other suggestions are welcome.
