Pannier locking problems

i have a deaville (nt650-vx) and the side panniers dont lock when there closed and have to give them a good hit to make sure there locked. Iv sprayed some wd-40 incasae that was the problem but that hasnt worked, also there is a small locked comartment at the front now that wont even open or the lock wont even turn, has anyone had similar problems or any suggestions on how to solve this,

thanks. Jon

To be honest

WD40 is pants in most cases, no pun intended. Use a better spray lube like GT85. Sounds like your locks are just full of winter crud. They will probably need a good soaking an several treatments to get them good. Once free spray in some white grease to keep the crap out.

From what

I remember, the Deauville pannier locks have some adjustment to them so may need a bit of tweaking as well as cleaning the locks of the "crud".

Have a look at Deauvilleuk and it will probably already have been asked, if not ask away and they will tell you.

Cheers for both replies. The amount of dirt i cleaned out was unbelievable, but it just opens better, may just need that tweeking. Thanks for the website flookyk, i can see that being the best place for any deauville problems, thanks again, jon
