Open faced helmets

The last time I fell off a bike I was wearing a full face helmet and the front of the helmet hit the kerb with considerable force. My only thought was 'thank god I am not wearing an open face helmet'. If you are buying a helmet you might as well get one that will protect all of your head rather then one which just projects an image.
