This photo was taken in 1939 in Abyssinia, now Ethiopia, by an unknown Italian  soldier. It later became the property of the British army following his  capture and was used as their Xmas card in 1940

Beautiful photo, but that Christmas card bullshit doesn’t sit right with me.

that's a 'sloper' engine and the instruments are located in the tank top. The trouble is AJS and others had so many models out at the same time,we could be looking for ever more.And them light coloured grips are saying Italian styling to me.Perhaps it's an AJS engine in a Bianchi frame.:smile
