It's a Piaggio skipper 4T 125.

(not my image but it looks exactly like that)

It's been sitting around for years doing nothing, I've tried changing the petrol, spark plugs, charging the battery and trying to start it while moving but it wont have any of it.

Just wondering if there are any other common things that go wrong?

Thanx.

Instead

of binning it use it as a self teaching aid, you never know you may get away with only a minimal outlay, but the knowledge gained is priceless.

hmmm

I've been messing around with it today, stripped it down and found a mystery wire that has nowhere to be attached to so I can only guess it's an optional thing. I got the bike to sound like it wants to start just by unplugging and plugging the electrics in but it doesn't start.

I'm going to buy a new battery, spark plug and fill the tank with new fuel as it's been sitting in there for years.

When I try to start it now it makes this horrible sharp scraping noise that ends sounding like a bell ring. Have no idea what that is but it could be a clue to why it wont start?

hmm

It's making a weak spark so not sure what could cause that but a bad CDI, there is no way to test one as far as I can tell and I'm not spending £80+ for a new one to find out it wasn't the CDI.
