I read that Hero motocorp were looking to buy Ducati in the news yesterday:

Personally i've ridden one of their 'cheap' bikes before and even though it was heavily based on a Honda it just didn't feel right!

Is it only me that's concerned what might happen to Ducati if they were bought out by Hero?

Hero buying Ducati

When Volkwagen bought Skoda the VW cars didn't sink to Skoda build quality.  It was the other way round - Skoda's became better cars based on the VW input and superior quality control.

In this case Hero are probably looking for Ducati's experience and expertise to raise the quality of their own bikes.  So why is everyone assuming that Ducati's are going to become some third-world piece of crap under Hero's Ownership?  You you really think they are going to invest all that money in buying a premium brand just to wreck it?  I don't think so.

DUCATI

In the past Ducati quality was a joke , poor finish , poor electrics etc . Their bikes in the 60`s were sporty but the wheels rusted in a week !
