Ducati: Lease price limit means lower spec machinery

A 1m Euro (£830,000) cap on the cost of leasing a MotoGP bike in the future will make it impossible for Ducati to deliver the same high level of technology featured on its existing customer bikes. To ensure MotoGP is more affordable in the future for independent teams like Tech 3, Gresini, LCR and potential new entries, factories could be forced...

Weird thing

is that in all or most sports.....it's down to the talent of the athlete. you don't hear about the cricket bat or ball doing too much shit, the football, rugby ball, golf ball, basketball, tennis ball, tennis racquet, golf club etc.. being from another dimension.

Only in racing you get all this shit like NexGen electronics, DCT, inclinometer, consisting of a collection of gyroscopes and accelerometers,  ASIMO, the Honda robot (WTF!) whose technology can tell if he is leaning over too much in any direction and correct him before falls. Imagine that technology on a bike and what that does for a rider. Stoenzo did not fall last year so we know it really works.

Are we really looking at rider talent anymore? Can the new generation riders really be compared equally to Doohan, Lawson, Rainey, Ago, Schwantz, etc... era? If you put a Depuniet, Bautista, Barberra on these Factory bikes will they be like Dovi, getting 2nd through 4th every race or will they best Pedrosa, Stoenzo, Glitterboy, Rossi?

I am inclined to think that they will be up there in 2nd through 4th. Maybe it's time we return racing to more talent from the riders than talent of the factory. Research and Development will do just fine and trickle down to the showroom, it does not always have to come from racing.

As it is right now, the CRT's, and ART's does not even cost as much as one little ECU from a Factory bike, much less the whole bike. Those riders on the CRT and ART should not be laughed at as the ride around 2 or 8 seconds behind. They are doing it with 1/10 the technology and cost (guessing here), but there is no denying the talent there to stay on those bikes and go so fast.

LMAO

An assflop is you flapping in the wind trying to ride the coat tails of a winner and if they cant win you run to the nearest person that can win. As for the respect, sure it's there for the riders, even the gay buck teeth and glitter boy celebrity couple. At least I don't hop around from one wagon to another like you. What's a man without his word. You have no substance and your words have no meaning. You flop to the nearest winner loser.

Rossi was not the biggest the loser. This is the second manufacturer he has moved on to, and he left them as winners, with their bikes as the best on this planet. Same can't be said of STOENZO, the shit pig he left Rossi have lots of work this year and he will get the bike right. Sadly the same will cannot be said for Stoenzo. we will see the bitch show her true colors. He so far have been king of 4 laps everytime. I guess you think that makes you a winner of 20 or more laps. STFU band wagon jumper and stand fast.

Fair play Milky-arse you're correct what will it be this year the rider and that bike expectations are high just like in 2011.

You can it shitpig what ever you like but the fact remains Casey could win it what ever condition that machine was in and Rossi can't shows who the better rider is know does it not.

lol is there any need for all this "shit talk".

Stoner and lorenzo are both good, why does everyone have to start mentioning gay relationships just because they don't like a particular rider.

I am not personally a fan of stoner or lorenzo, but that doesnt make them gay.

Stoner is better than rossi.(at this moment in time)  END OF.

Rossi's career is fading away and thats the harsh truth....Rossi has had his day.BUT. when Rossi was injury free and had a bike beneath that was competetive, moves like laguna 08 and catalunya 09 were possible, no one can deny those were EPIC motogp moments.

It seems that a few individuals like to cling onto rossi's faliure with ducati, whats done is done, foget about, he's done shit, thats it, there is nothing else to say, in your eyes stoner maybe a superior individual, who cares?????

Stoner and Rossi are two blokes who will eventually quit racing and also die one day, yes like you and me, they are people not super humans.

Milkybars....

...you have obviously taken your hero's fall from the top table with much venom and no grace....grow up FFS.

No-one's got any talent anymore? Bollox...Lorenzo had the measure of your hero long before he decided to scarper for a 'new challenge'. If Ducati turn their fortunes around, it will be despite Rossi not because of him....I have said to you before, before Lorenzo came along, who the fuck else was any good on the Yamaha, a bike he was developing for 'everyone' to ride.

Hope you feel better for attacking Elbowz....at least he has something to look forward to tho'.

i agree with you 1000%. rossi is fading away. nobody want to hire him again. if ducati extend his contract, that would be the biggest miracle of the year for motogp.
