BMW C650GT first ride: “takes scooter equipment to a new level”

The BMW C650 GT is one of the most sophisticated scooters yet - and the first to cost over £10,000. I've just ridden the new super scooter at the launch in Madrid. With heated seat and grips, ABS and electronically adjustable screen, it takes scooter equipment to a new level. It's got the go of a middleweight motorcycle - just about...

ridiculous

What a load of crap, the most sophisticated bike BMW makes, why who wants a sophistcated bike it just means over inflated prices to do what you can do on other bikes on a more reasonable price ticket.

I considered buying BMW as I recal the old BMW R100 used to be a great bike but, these things are to be honest terrible.

When are these numpties going to start listening to their customers.

I buy honda but even they have a problem understand what their customers are telling them.

My douvey is getting a bit long in the tooth now and I have been considering getting a new bike but there just is nothing of interest out there, it's either sports bikes over priced tourers, or toy bikes.

What ever happened to the good old all rounder?

By all-rounder do you mean the good old fashioned idea of a motor with a bike around it ?

What about a Bonneville

Deauville

@ Fly by night: I would not by choice take a Honda Deauville to a track day, and it is a bit nervous on gravel, but otherwise a fine all-around bike.  Honda does need to add a 6-speed transmission to dampen the vibrations at speed, and improve the quality of the locks and some of the plastic bits, but otherwise the NT700V is excellent for cruising, commuting, touring one-up, and even riding the twisties.

@ rlf3: Maybe I am spoiled, but any motorcycle without wind protection and locking storage does not seem to me to be a good all-around bike.  After all, one often needs to place to put the groceries picked up on the way home from work, rain gear, removable jacket liners, etc.

Overpriced BMW as usual!!

Yep, as one reviewer said - this is a Suzuki Burgman!

Yep I do fancy one of these (I presently ride a BMW650GS twin), but given the big scoots storage ease of use, I can see myself going back to a Scooter for commuting and the odd weejkend run out. That said, who would pay over £10K for one of these, when you could buy a cracking BMW1200RT for around £7-8K. Or, look at a Burgman for around £5K which will give you all the features and perfornace of the BME C650GT.

Its a joke and BMW need to come back to reality when introducing a Scooter to the European market - there are too  many good contenders at this price!!

BMW over to you.......
