Ducati boss: Valentino Rossi highly motivated for 2012

Valentino Rossi remains motivated and determined to transform Ducati’s fortunes in MotoGP, despite conceding he’s little chance to start the new 1000cc era in Qatar on Sunday night with a rostrum. Ducati boss Vittoriano Guareschi says Rossi’s motivation remains high, despite a tough pre-season testing campaign for the nine-times world champion. A radical new GP12 with twin spar aluminium frame aimed at...

SAME AS LAST YEAR.

Only real difference this time around, is now he`s got the Japanese Ducati he wanted, wow and what a difference ?  Motivation ?  The fact that there only 5 other Work`s Bike`s,{ he was 1 of 9 },should be all the "motivation" he need`s. And if all else fail`s,     he can alway`s blame the bike,    again!        After all "you don`t lose it overnight", I wonder how long it does take?

He won't be if they don't sort out the bike. moaners quick alright and the hondas easily the best bike. The Ducati has to be near as damn it, as good as the Honda for Rossi to put up a challenge and it's a long way off. They don't have the chassis experience and it shows and the engine's way down on power, quite frankly they are expecting miracles from Rossi as yam and honda are at their best something they've never had to deal with before. Requires Ducatis design teams best ever work and they haven't done it yet.... Reckon it'll be a lot closer later in the year but that will already be too late for this season.. Highlight of the season ?? Watching Ducatis progress in my view.. When they get up to the current honda and yam it will be their greatest achievement..

It's not so much the word radical that winds me up. It's the fact people keep referring to it as a concept. It isn't a concept it's a bike. The concept is what came before the bike was built. Although to be fair for once MCN haven't used the word in this article.

It's all a bit serious - I think Rossi needs to relax, here's an idea - they could roll out a Panigale from the back of a tranny, put some duct tape (or sellotape) over the Lights, fold in the mirrors and black out the number plate (you know, like when someone is selling it and only wants you to read half).  Plug in a kettle and light a marlboro.  Rossi could kick back with a fag (no pun) and then decide when to go out and (according to every motorcycle journalist this side of Saturn) BLITZ the opposition.  Imagine Stoners face when Rossi comes past on the outside of turn 5 (flicks some ash at him) and then dissapears into the night with his hazards on?  I will be sat on the sofa race night with a cold can of stella looking forward.to it.  Or reality, watching Stoner, Lorenzo and Spies grab top spots (Ped = DNF).  Cal 4th (Go on my son!).  46 = 5th and pleased.

GOAT

I was around when Ago was riding and back then i never really rated him. because he had by far the best bike. MV against the old british singles. Its a bit like now the works hondas and yamahas against CRT bikes they have no chance. Hailwood yes, he might be a contender for the GOAT I remember him going to the isle of man on what was supposed to be an un competitive Ducati and he won the race he finished up with his toes bleeding where he had worn through his boots. I see a lot of Lorenzo in Hailwood a really smooth fast rider who very rarely gets fazed . I personally thinks Rossi is the GOAT not only because of his world crowns and riding ability but because he has brought motogp into main stream sports. So many people are slagging him of but they have to give him 10/10 for effort on the Ducati and if he retires at the end of this season Then it could well be MOTOGPS loss

To be called a GOAT surely you must be able to ride around any thing and win? Unless a time machine can be built and all riders future and past can ride on equal machinery, age and technology there will never be a rider being branded as a GOAT .

And just to get the facts clear before the beginning of the season . This is a radically redesigned bike , all developed by Rossi and co and has no imput from Stoner and his team?and just to be sure it has not been turned into a M1 ?

hugelean : i'm sorry buddy. valencia 2006, with 990CC, if i'm not wrong, capiROSSI and Mr. bayliss, had a great performance with 2 and 1 position. and now you see rossi. yes, that's sucks. btw, why you always said it's the bike that made stoner WC??? why you not look at rossi's first 5 years? thank you.

Ivebeenthehero : it's not US 27ers, whose start this abusement. it's your ass partners in this forum. sorry.

revnev7 : until ducati bancrupt or sell to Audi. i'm sure of it. i've told ducati would going to bancrupt IF marlboro pull out. and i'm sure they are mad right now cause top ducati fired and abuse stoner.

ratchetman : you're right about rossi makes motogp at next level, but previous of him already done it either. doohan, agostini, etc. we'll miss him.

noshow : i agree 1000%. if you want to be call goat (god of all time) you must have ability to ride any bike given to you. not cause that bike already a great bike. example : honda and yamaha are known for the best bike already, rossi jumped on yamaha and wons. that's not hillarious. stoner from ducati to honda? not hillarious cause honda already one of the best bike right? but look at rossi jump to ducati. can he rode the same as stoner?? it's shown their true talent. stoner can adapt to every bike, while rossi only wants already ridden friendly bike developt by honda or furusawa. rossi is not a goat (god of all time). BUT he is goat (god of ass talk)!!!!!

A game of skittles

Still chuckling that 'Valley' skittled Stoner in exactly the same way that little Seaman (literally) cannon balled Hayden back in 2006.  "Screw it, if I can't beat you on track I'm going to throw my bike at you whilst I  can still see you".  Gotta face facts, Stoner is a gun - he just needs to learn how to use the media to his advantage - you know like Sgt Pepper and Lake diving Lorenzo (although, some of his antics are inferior copies of the 2nd GOAT).  And yes, when all said and done, I'd put hailwood up there as the GOAT.  He did the transistion across both car & bike.  The only one to do it successfully therefore, the daddy.  Ago, just an older Rossi isn't he?
