Inside this week's new-look MCN: Foggy Petronas FP1 ridden on the road!

10 years after its launch, we’ve finally ridden it. Revealed in 2002, the Foggy FP1 was set to spawn a superbike dynasty to rival Ducati. The first 150 road bikes were built, but never ridden. Until now... MCN got the chance to ride a road FP1 in Switzerland thanks to owner Livio Kagi. Read the test in the all-new MCN, out...

Should make interesting reading. Should put up against one of its contemparies. They should not have been allowed to participate in WSB without selling a solitary bike at the time though.

Just last year

Wasn't a shipping container full of these discovered, new and unused, at some UK shop?

It would be interesting to see how it would have faired against the 998/sp2/rsvr etc on the road...propbably inferior to all of them but sure as hell would have been exclusive

I remember Michaela Carls wife saying they have the best Hospitality suite in the paddock whilst the Petronas contract was running for 5 years.

They also had  Troy Corser the most expensive OAP in the paddock  and possible the worst Manager you could have Carl himself not a great motivator, the bike was a nice looker but down on the power you required to be up front, so it needed a balls out racer which it never got so the whole project was doomed.

You got nice grub in the pits.                   Andy

Balls out rider-  Craig Jones cut his teeth on this machine. He rode it hard!

Any extra bikes are welcome. If the same happened today would you be saying it shouldn't be accepted in WSBK? We got to see a fair few extra riders try to tame the beast.

Building 150 then hiding them away is nothing less than cheating.
