motorcycle fairings

Hi

Has anyone bought fairings for their bike recently?
I mean the cheaper imported ones, not the originals
I see advertisers in Google and also Ebay and would like to know which one you chose.

Did they come in ok?

Thanks
Mat

Cheap fairings

I have not bought a set but the general opinion of the cheap Chinese bodywork on various forums is not good.  Thin, flimsy material combined with a poor fit means that these will always be a poor compromise.  You get what you pay for and used originals in good condition will often be the better bet.

Perfomance bikes....

fitted these to their R1 for 400 quid, as opposed to 1500 quid for OE ones and rated them very highly...fit perfect first time...Might be worth a punt if you like the graphics.:smile

Fairings

Dependent on what bike it is you might get lucky at one of the shows like Stafford later this month. There are always lots of stalls outside selling plastics for all sorts of bikes both ancient and modern and you can haggle!

plastics

I noticed on e-bay that most new Honda plastics for sale are from Thailand. I assume these are genuine Honda products and are from their main production plant ?

all of em

are crap, bought some for a vfr400 , no pre drilled holes for fastners, paint runs all over, and thinner than a ciggie paper, by the time you add it up with the import tax, better to buy original stuff, on the later japanese stuff ive noticed they have also got very thin for the sake of costs.

ARD

I have used ARD racing twice. http://www.ardracing.com/

No complaints, good service, reasonably priced and top quality bodywork.
