Brands Hatch BSB: Second superbike race cancelled

The second superbike race of the 2012 BSB season opener at Brands Hatch has been cancelled after fuel was spilled during the British Supersport race. Pauli Pekkanen crashed during the second supersport race of the weekend at the final corner and re-mounted, not knowing his bike was leaking fuel. The race was red-flagged and the team at Brands Hatch cleaned up...

Brands .... sympathy wearing thin

forgive me for saying this as someone who is based in Cheshire, but Brands has three BSB meetings scheduled for 2012 - the opener, the July triple header and the last meeting of the season which is another triple header.  i don't really have a problem if the cancelled race is run at a different circuit - Brands hosts too much of the series already - eight races is almost a third of the season!!!  Silverstone and Donington have one BSB meeting per season ... neither circuit is owned by MSV .... not a coincidence.

whilst i'd never have a pop at the marshalls at any circuit, the overall efforts at the BSB meeting regarding the fuel spillage and subsequent clean-up left a lot to be desired.  this on the back of some pretty shoddy work at the BTCC meeting the previous weekend - you'd think by now they could remove a car from the gravel at Druids in double quick time.  evidence suggets otherwise by trying to tow a beached car with a JCB loadall attached to the car bumper - with the inevitable result that the bumper was quickly ripped off.  come on Mr Palmer, there's a lot to learn from these events, step up to the plate.

Benny - Oulton doesn't have a triple header scheduled this year.  both visits will have two races, unless one meeting picks up the cancelled Brands race.

Chris Walker is 2nd on the timesheets.

Perhaps all your previous chat about him still being a top contender could be true!!!!!!!!!
