Adventure Bike Review

Interesting article last week comparing the modern crop of adventure bikes. Very good reaction to the new Tiger Explorer, some favourable comments on the Honda Crosstourer - my pick of the bunch for its comfort and stonking V4 engine, and some kind words for the venerable 1200GS. The only serious off-road bike was the KTM (no surprises there!) but the conclusion was that none of these bikes are really suitable for off-roading due to their weight. If they are not off-road bikes, but comfy, upright touring bikes (who would want to spend £11k on a bike to trash it anyway?) then the best road bike should have come out on top. Why spend time trying to produce a balanced review (including a short off-road section), come to a logical conclusion about how these bikes are going to be used in the real world and then ignore everything you've said in the final analysis!
