little road trip

Heading down to (hopefully) sunny Beaumaris in North Wales on saturday to pick up a Virago Trike...

Not for myself but my big mate who has been looking for a while to get a 3 wheeler so at half 5 on saturday morning it'll be south bound for a 700 mile round trip

The things we do to get what we want... lol so if there's anybody on here from round that way keep an eye out for two slightly lost scots men in a silver 4x4 and point us in the right direction....

:biggrin::lol::biggrin::lol:

I've never

heard of Beaumaris, it sounds quite exotic! :sunglasses:

Good luck with the trip and I hope your mate is happy with the trike. I also hope the journey isn't too wet, although that won't be a worry for the 4x4 driver :winkie:

Hope i don't see you then. But with my mates sense of direction you never know    lol

DC

Cheers buddy i had never heard of it before last nite either but i have been to a place called valley in wales that has an RAF base

Thankfully the 4x4 belongs to my mates wife and the thought of at least 2 tanks o diesel (£100 a tank to fill) sends shivers down my spine but like i said the things we do...

p.s never been in wales with the sun out yet !!! :ph43r::wink:

Mornin Jeni

Thankfully the guy thats selling it is getting rid of his towing dolly for it so it's just gonna be a matter o hookin it to the tow bar and get the hell out o dodge

As for the fuel thing i would imagine the tank range will be shocking due to the weight and i don't think the virago has that big a tank to start with .. lol

It ain't gonna win any land speed records that for sure

I've only been to Wales once (Llandudno) and had an absolutely fantastic week... the sun even shone the whole time we were there too

Trikes

Has your mate ever ridden a trike before. They often have somewhat strange handling with heavy steering, understeering , wobbling handlebars and large movements for small turning. Hope he gets used to it quickly.

Know it well............

That brings back memories.  I grew up in a little village just outside Beaumaris (Llanfaes) and did most of my growing up around Beaumaris.

It's a bit of a one horse town to be honest.

Enjoy the drive, Hope the trike is everything you hope.

Cheers,

Shad.

kawa

isnt Valley on anglesey.......i believe it's an RAF training base....my dad's former boss trained there, had the unenviable problem of encountering a bird strike, plane in big strife, popped the canopy ready to bale out and then realised his 'chute was damaged, got buckled back in a had a somewhat hairy landing!...back in the day before ejector seats.........here endeth today's useless information!!
