Name the new Norton V4 Racer

Stuart Garner and the engineers at Norton have been so focused on getting their new V4 racer built to compete at the Isle of Man TT (See the April 18 issue of MCN), that they met our question - 'What are you going to call it?' - with blank looks. New Name

I agree with keeping it simple. It goes with the tradition of naming Nortons, so how about any of these ideas?:

the Norton Birmingham
the Norton Manx V4 or V4R
the Norton Garner
the Norton Senior
the Norton Mackman
the Norton Redgate

Good luck at the TT :)

Andy.

New Norton

In response to the plonkers who are criticising the Norton venture, are these people under the illusion that foreign motorcycles (in particular the Japs) were conjoured up out of thin air, if so may I suggest they read the history of the development and production of the bike they ride (if indeed they have one). If more people who are in the same position as Stuart Garner made the same effort for British Industry then maybe we would not be in the mess we are in now! Good Luck Stuart and Norton and thanks for the jobs.

How about after a Norton TT rider?

How about after a Norton TT rider like Mike Hailwood who won his first senior TT on a Norton in 1961? "Norton Hailwood V4" sounds pretty good to me...

Norrilia V4

NORton apRILIA. Nod to the tradition of name joining when using a different manufacturers engine.

The Ruptured Duck

if it is goes well it will be an Aprilia, If it fails a Norton it will be.

Maybe not here but thats how the European press will report it's future.

I do wish it all the best.

Come on Triumph,

How about a little something from you.
