The front page of this week's MCN proudly reveals Norton's new V4 race bike, and the story inside explains how Norton went from a blank sheet of paper to running race bike in six weeks. Yes it's a Norton.

Aprilia engine? Aprilia have used Rotax, Suzuki and BMW engines in the past, and no-one questioned those bikes. Lotus use Rover and Toyota engines in the Elise. The VX220 uses a Lotus chassis. Old Omegas used 2.5 BMW engines.

No one questions those bikes because at least Aprilia/Suzuki/Bimota at least made the frame etc (ie the bike). I guess if Norton are the ones bolting the bits together then it could be a Norton, but its not really in the spirit of the brand.
