water pump

Don`t know but kcmc or pdj on here may know,

a water pump (impeller) is connected to a shaft driven from the engine  with engine oil on one side of the shaft and coolant on the other,  pictures would be better for the seal which goes IN THE SHAFT.

Gilera 500 Nexus 2004

Hi Goldy1976

Don't know whats going on with the mechanics you are using over there?.Anyway the important thing here is to check the impeller shaft for wear(make sure there are no groves cut by the seals,if there are replace the shaft as well as the seals, also there should be no excessive movement with the shaft in the case)as this impeller shaft does not run on bearings it if very important to fit the ceramic seal carefully as this is what the shaft will run on instead of bearings. The special tool is no more than a 15mm diameter flat drift to install the ceramic seal,if you measure the O.D.of a long socket 15mm you will be able to drive it home with that. The other double seal fitting is determined by the fitting a tightening of the impeller itself.Hope this helps?

Good Luck

KCMC:tongue:

P.S. just found a on line manual so this should help with things a bit better:smile
