Cambridge police being very fair

I've just heard that police in Cambridge are refusing to enforce the 20MPH speed limit because drivers exceeding a 20 limit aren't eligible for a speed awareness course but drivers exceeding 30 are.  They have therefore decided only to fine anybody doing more than 30 in the 20 zones.

Rather decent of them I must say.

Apparently 300+ drivers have been clocked breaking the limit but only 17 fines have been issued.

I'm with MS

Between parked cars, speed humps, pedestrians and so on, a speeding fine in areas like these is probably one of the least significant problems.

20mph while the little bleeders are coming and going is fine

but at 1:30 on a Sunday morning the offence would be dealt with in court as if it was chucking out time.

The flashing light system twice a day on school days was fairer than the blanket 20 limits
