Progress 2

The bike is brand new and there are thousands of different combinations of setup with the engine position, rider position, length of swingarm, height, suspension settings, etc, etc, etc.

They've been thorugh all of those options over and over. Only a few short weeks ago Rossi proclaimed that the bike was unrideable and couldn't be fixed with set up. Whatever they did made no difference. He admitted they were lost, hadn't got a clue what to do and wailed at Ducati to fix it and give him what he wanted.

Ducati administered a hearty boot to the backside and told him to use Hayden's settings and get on with it, resulting in an improvement and better performance.

Maybe that's what the 80 second fix was. It took JB 80 seconds to wander into Hayden's side of the garage, copy his settings and pass them onto Rossi's mechanics...

Good job there is no wall in there...

chuppachump

this is what`s happening.....and will continue to happen!!!!.....(although he rossi fanatics won`t agree)stoner is firing off 2 or 3 very fast laps to give him a cushion....then he is going as slow as u can to win the race, that`s why if lorenzo closes a little he just fires in a faster lap and keeps the gap around a second.....i`m convinced if he put the hammer down he`d win by 20 seconds!!!! but why risk crashing when u can still win in your comfort zone?.....and all these diks saying lorenzo settled for 2nd..bollox.....he could not get close enough,no matter how hard he tried

Spies reached his peak

Last year, and is going backwards. Come on how can anyone stick up for him and maintain he's going ever be a serious challenger for the title. That time has passed, the top three after way too go for him. Christ, Dovi was written off double quick time compared to Spies, and at least he steadily IMPROVED every year.

IMO there are far too many of the self proclaimed intelectuals in here ,who jumped on his band wagon and marvelled at the emperors new clothes ( and now dont want to admit they were very wrong)

The technology in the bikes has hit such a level when the bike starts getting out of shape they just flick a switch and alter the mapping (stoners words on crashnet) until they find a smoother set up. Again IMO this is killing the riders ability to make passes,. Its too much technology and not enough about the riders anymore.

Nostro , your a bright fella, so isnt it about time you dropped Rossi hatred/payback for the critizism of stoner campain? The Ducati was as good as it was going to get by the end of 2010 and honda and yamaha left it way behind. the GP12 is in its very early stages and can develop if we give it chance, But no you and kind expect them to caught up years of development overnight.

Rossi himself is past his best but is far best than 7th and you know it.

Jorge nearly burnt his clutch out at the start that is why stoner pulled away.If stoner could have pulled clear he would have done..

Not just crashing , but also saving his tyres . As soon as anybody gets close , he just knocks it up a gear . By the looks of things we are going to see this a lot .

Jorge's clutch

I don't doubt what he says about the clutch off the start but there didn't seem much wrong with it when he fired past Pedrosa after the first corner. He set fastest lap on lap 3.
