Current MotoGP champion Casey Stoner dominated at Estoril today to take his second victory in a row onboard his Repsol Honda and his first ever win at the Portugese circuit. Stoner lead from start to finish, leading second place finisher Jorge Lorenzo comfortably. Stoner's team-mate Dani Pedrosa finished third. Brit Cal Crutchlow again had a batte with Tech 3 team-mate Andrea Dovizioso, this...

It would be the best thing ever happened in MotoGP if Stoner goes to Yamaha the whole field will get decimated as you see what he is doing on the Honda currently.

watch out Casey

Seems Ducati are confident Rossi and Burgess are the ones to eventually get the GP 12 closer to the front.
A new engine by Laguna seems to be on the cards along with other significant improvements.
Bring it on!

And despite a slow start to the season, Preziosi is adamant he places his full trust and confidence in Rossi and his Crew Chief Jeremy Burgess: "For sure this challenge is being done because we want to build a bike for Valentino, because we believe that a bike Valentino likes, is a good bike for all the riders. We are following the direction of what he suggests. Of course we are trying to do that at the best of our capability, which is not enough right now to be faster than Honda. But for sure we will try in the direction that Valentino shows us. We give Jeremy 100 per cent freedom to define with Valentino what the best set-up is. So as Ducati, our duty is just to supply material, and we believe that the crew chief is imperative in the box. The way of working is to put the right person in the right position and allow that person to do what he thinks is best. We can suggest what our ideas are, but the final decision, day by day, practice by practice, is made by Jeremy speaking with Valentino."

come on Bulto lets hav it?

silly season?

,it never gets tiring to read the dreamers and schemers plot the next silly season. Reading conspiracy into Jarvis's casual comments after being asked a stupid question is worth it alone. At best, he was just being polite. And Stoner going to Yamaha? I'd love to see where this fantasy got its wings. He has everything he wants for as long as he wants at Honda. His own words of not wanting to be in gp for much longer can be read only a few ways. I'll take it as 3 or 4 more,, and that's it.. And Dani? there can be only one champion and as long as he's wearing Repsol colors, Dani is under no pressure to do any better than he's doing right now... He needs to do better, why? to take points from Stoner? Lorenzo is carrying team blue just fine. and (though not really needed) they have a stable of number 2's in waiting. ,, Including the slightly over-rated Bradley having a tech3 seat next year. And as they go now,,, Cal (or Dovi) should be sporting blue colors next year. Without disrespecting the GOAT, does anyone think that he would be a real title threat in 2 years, regardless of what he rides? Sure the Stoners & Marquez's will slow down and wait. Hey I still think that VR at 80% of his peak is still worth a win or 2, but not a championship, not without a lot of (DNF) help. And it kills the future cycle for the factory who makes the mistake of bringing in Mr. "divider wall". Not to mention that this HAS TO be Jeremy's last hurah. IMO Rossi will be with Ducati as long as he wants to be in gp. OR, with the very real possibilities that all of gp will evolve into CRT type bikes is a few years, then he will be able to select/form/join another team.

What else are they going to friggin' say?! Are they relying on Dani's 'annual leave' for a few rounds?

Priceless PR Bullshit

What's going on at Ducati. First Rossi takes Hayden's settings, Hayden's transponder misfires and the bike thinks it's on the wrong section of track, now Preziosi's thought process has misfired and he thinks he's on another timeline. Surely this quote belongs to a time period 18 months ago

But for sure we will try in the direction that Valentino shows us. We give Jeremy 100 per cent freedom to define with Valentino what the best set-up is.

Or have you made it all up Buel. We've seen over the last 18 months what granting VR his every wish has brought them - nothing but accelerated reversing down the grid. As for VR defining the best set up, who said this a few weeks ago about the Ducati whist throwing a tantrum to the press? And not the only time he's said it either.

"It is unrideable and it doesn’t matter what track you are on. I cannot enter the corners hard and we can’t hope the situation will change with the new Bridgestone tyres. These aren’t problems that can be solved with set-up alone." "Ducati did not follow the route that I have indicated. I am not an engineer and I cannot solve every problem."

Then who said this, this weekend

"I am good in the first section and the third section because the bike is good in braking and is quite stable, and I can enter with a good speed and it's these places where I am close to the top guys."

So, the "best set up team in the business" announced a few weeks ago the bike couldn't be improved with set-up alone. It was unrideable and Ducati needed to change it.

Ducati finally have enough and deliver a hefty size 12 up Rossi's backside and tell him to use Hayden's settings after Hayden made him look an idiot at Jerez with a bike that was turning just fine. Hey Presto, an immediate improvement.

All of the above is fact, not my opinion Buel, Rossi admitted he was lost after months of trying to set the bike up. One try with Hayden's settings and he's contradicting himself again. The bike that was unrideable, that he couldn't brake hard and deep into a cporner with, is now allowing him to do just that. Nothng to do with him or JB, all to do with using Hayden's set up.

So why, do you think, is Preziosi talking as much sense as the village idiot in the quote you've posted. Probably because someone from way up high has held a loaded gune to his head and told him to be nice to Valentino and play happy families in public to keep the sponsors happy.

Why else he would come out with that is anyone's guess as clearly, Rossi has failed to find any set up solution at all to his problems. Hayden to the rescue.

And Hayden must be mighty pissed off when he sees that - if it is a current quote, because he has bailed Rossi out. The golden boy was in no-man's land and was in danger of being machine gunned by marauding CRT riders.

Hayden's settings

Sorry, I forgot, Rossi hasn't used Hayden's settings at all, he's using the the Ducati default settings which closely resemble Hayden's settings....

You'd think he'd have tried those "default settings" first wouldn't you, because if they are the default settings they would have been how the bike was set up when he first rode it. Maybe that explains why he was happy with it at Sepang 1, the default settings worked. Sepang 2, he started messing with the set up....

Oh dear, we know what happened next.

elbowz - are you now in denial about Spies, so are now fantasizing about Stoner on an M1?  why would Stoner want to change what he has now - a factory ride on one of the best bikes, considered as the no.1 rider in his team, and wanting to repeat what another aussie did on a Repsol Honda 15 years ago?  faster1 is indeed right, it's the silly season and it's only May.

Silly season

I can see a few reasons for casey only wanting a 1 year contract and then going to yamaha (pure speculation of course, but hey) 1. casey's dig at qatar, saying hrc weren't fixing stuff, just expecting him to ride round it. Maybe everything not as rosey at honda as it looks? 2. The prospect of being marquez's team mate. Honda had a world champ in hayden but built the 800cc machine for dani (repsol makes the world go round!) can stoner see more of this coming and wants a get out? 3. Just to piss off valentino. What could be more fun than trouncing the Goat reputation by winning a world championship on 3 manufacturers, something it looks like Vali will never achieve. 4. Just to piss off jorge, what better way to humiliate your closest rival than stealing his seat and forcing him to go and ride the ducati pig dog with rossi? 5. Because with no serious rivals Stoner will have to do something to keep it interesting.
