Valentino Rossi rubbishes retirement talk

Valentino Rossi has moved quickly to dismiss reports claiming the Italian star was going to retire at the end of 2012. A report in today’s Daily Telegraph claimed Rossi would retire at the end of his second season with Ducati, or even quit before the end of the campaign because of his failure to make the Desmosedici a competitive force in...

No problem. Once he finishes up at Honda I'm sure their will be comparisons. Its looking good so far, 100% podium finish since he joined(except for when he was taken out of course). 12 wins and 13 poles from 20 races... Not bad I guess... But Rossi's better still, right?

STONER

So in 2010 we could class casey as a veteran of motogp could we..??...

It was the second year with carbon frames....the second year stoner finished fouth in the championship...

It would not matter to any rider if they poled EVERY race they entered if it didnt result in race wins...

And what do race wins equal....championships....Of which Casey has 1 on Ducati...on a totally different bike to the Carbon frame....Once he was on the carbon frame...he slowly went backwards with results...not me making it up...FACT..do a bit more research and you will agree....Unless of course you are looking through orange tinted lenses...and wearing a orange thong with an aussie flag on the crotch......

I think that sums up 50% of this forum...lol

And then something horrific happened. Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa joined. From then on denial kicked in.

1997 Poles x 4 - champion

1999 poles x 5 - 2nd

2001 poles x 4 - champion

2002 poles x 7 champion

2003 poles x 9 champion

2004 poles x 5 champion

2005 poles x 5 champion

With the exception of 2002/2003 rossi had an average of 5 poles....This had no reflection on his race victories or championships won...

Again...Bob...What is the below supposed to indicate...!!...And try not to get to upset and hit us with the personal insults...!! ;-p

You've palyed right into my trap....so we are saying biaggi, gibernau, Abe, Roberts Jnr, capirossi, barros, nakano or ukawa,  were insignificant riders....

Not to mention Hayden, edwards, melandri,criville...all putting in outstanding performances occasionally through a season...Kato was going to be a force to be reckond with too....

But no these riders were s**t compared to CS's adversaries i bet...lmfao.....how did i know that was coming...poor...very poor Yam...i did'nt think it would be you that came up with that one...

You bore me Leemuz, but all the riders you mention below.. I think Rossi was better. Simple. Whether it was to do with 'mind games', 'controversial overtakes' or just pure riding ability. His record shows he had the edge. What you don't seem to understand is that CS and JL are probably faster compared to those boys aswell, although its hard to make a comparison. The head to head record continues now I'm afraid, and even with the rookie year. Stoner is still on top, by a long way.

i thought i might.....its not rossi's fault that lorenzo and stoner have coe along in his twilight years...and to hold them BOTH of for chamionships in 08 and 09 to me was rossi's epitaph to motogp...

It would read "on the right bike i could  beat anyone who wished to compete..This became a rather boring habir...so i thought i would give my competitors an advantage...i'll ride a pig of a ducati...the same ducati that earned CS his pet name...the same bike that brought on misterious illness to it's rider....My career records can be ignored...but never taken away..."
