speedo cable

Before I start, please go easy on me!

I have just changed the chain and sprockets on my GSF 600 bandit. when I went to ride it the speedometer does not work. It was working before I changed the chain and sprockets and before I go out and buy a new cable could I have dislodged something under the front sprocket casing.

Not to sure where to look and the manual is quite confusing.

CABLE

welcome u..........................r,pre 99 bandit speedo cable is at the front as you know and you have worked on the middle/rear of the bike.

Putting the bike on the centre stand lowers the front wheel and extends the cable a bit.

Check clock/wheel connections for tightness,if ok remove and check the cable.

Suzuki GSF 600 Bandit Year??

Hi uselesswithaspanner and welcome to the site:tongue:

We will let you off coz your new,but next (if there is one)post the year and model,it makes a big difference in a diagnosis.

Ok so i am presuming yours is the later Bandit with the speedo pick up at the drive sprocket, which you say you have just changed.Right if you have changed your engine sprocket you will have had to remove the speedo rotor which is bolted to the end of the drive shaft with a allen bolt before you can get to the i think 24mm drive sprocket retaining nut.If you have not tightened the allen bolt enough or it has come loose this could be the problem?.Also if its come loose this could also damage the pick up sender(if the rotor has been hitting it?)also check the pick up sender is plugged in,and there is no corrosion and the fit is good and it to isn't loose.(sender sensor could be duff?)Good Luck
