Switzerland Road Tax - Cheap

Just come back from Monza where travelled through Switzerland, there we had to buy road tax and this lasts the full year in 2012 its around £50 and if you purchase online you'l have to pay postage of around £15 on top (ridiculous)

If you dont have it before you go and caught at checkpoint you are also fined Euro 40.00 on top opf having to buy one.

So if anyone wants a cheap one, you can have mine for £20 incl postage as its as good as new. Once used you can then sell it on to another biker as they are not specific to each bike, you can just pass it on.

drop me an e-mail:

Swiss road tax

Have they changed the rules? You only used to have to pay for a vignette if you used the Motorways.

Swiss road tax

We rode through Switzerland last year never paid any road tax or vignet as we kept off the motorways and we were checked by the plod at the border, no problems.

Depends which border crossing you use. The crossings on the French side of Switzerland are mostly on the motorway and so you have to pay anyway. The crossing near here where I live in Northern Italy are on A-roads so you have the choice of not buying one and avoiding the motorways. I'm going to have to pay when I ride my R1 over here at the end of the month sadly but then I'm always popping over there anyway.
