£500 for a non running ZZR600. Got it running within 30 mins of getting it home. Cleaned it up. Then it was worth £1500 :-)

Yeah me too, ZZR600, a good everyday bike. I paid £2,200 from a dealer, it was in exceptional nick. It's the most I've ever paid for a bike (or car). One reason I didn't renew my subscription this year with MCN is that most of the articles are on top of the range bikes like the panigale, BMWs etc which I just can't afford.  And I just can't relate to Michael Neaves et al  who pay  £500 for a helmet, £1000s for top of the range suits etc.   What have I got in common with them -Nothing except I ride a bike!

My most recent purchase was my 'first big bike.' It was a bit of a dare at first really, a mate of mine spotted it online and said how great it would be to turn up to school on that. I paid jist over £2k. So now it appears I'm the world's youngest Guzzi California owner. I'm 18.

Not Much

I paid $2,900 (about £1,850 at the time) early this year for a new (0.6 miles on the clock) 2010 Yamaha TW200.

I paid just over 3K 3 years ago for a GSXR1000K3 . Best three grand I have ever spent as she is an absolute beauty. I agree with bikerpete , MCN is currently out of touch with the majority of its potential readership so its good that they have carried out this poll, hopefully it will make the MCN more relevant.

I never spend more than €5,000 on a track bike. Might spend a little more on a road bike but not a lot. There are a load of good second hand bikes with very low milage. Buy a good second hand bike and fit K tech suspension, you'll have a great bike and save £££.

Tuned '98 TDM850 £1500, bought as an interim bike after my Bonnie broke.  Absolute bargain, absolute hoot.  Two years on I've still got it!
