Lucio Cecchinello not surprised by Stoner’s retirement decision

Lucio Cecchinello, the man who played an integral role in helping Casey Stoner become double MotoGP world champion, says he is not surprised the Australian has decided to retire at the peak of his career. Stoner’s Grand Prix career started with Cecchinello’s Aprilia 250cc squad back in 2002 and it was the popular Italian who gave him his big break in...

Puig

I'd like to hear his take on this. Many love to hate him, but he was equally instrumental in Casey's career.

Puig dubbed them #26 and #27. In the junior classes the order was correct. Premier class, the reverse.

Alberto was a tough nut in his day and his clout within HRC/Repsol is respected. Hate him,but he has a very canny head. Casey's success is a case in point. Without Puig's acknowledgement of Stoner in Spanish junior classes, none of you would have a Casey to bitch about..

Respect to tallent scouts and racers of the Cechinello/Puig order.

Puig again

Fair enough to a certain extent in terns of Nick. On the other hand Puig's deciisions were probably correct in terms of the big picture. Much like Jarvis bringing Calvin and Ben into Yamaha back then.

Yam Racer. Over to you and simply a straight question requesting a straight answer.

Strictly business..

Were you accountable for race results season by season, would you employ Nick or Dani ?

Eassy for me. Market value in the US +1 Nick.

GP winning probability +10 Dani.

Now. Do you want to win races or be a popular guy. Rossi wants to win for Ducati. Nick is as solid as rock and a popular guy and compared with Rossi thats about it. Rossi likes owning a team mate. Nick's and Colin's compliance is legendary in this regard. George Lorenzo. What a pleasure, the non subservient Yamaha maestro.

Dani is majestically limited by his stature on 1000cc 250BHP kit. Never question his heart !!!. True alien.

Puig saw this in both Dani and Casey years back.

Hate him more y'all. I've got a lot of respect for him.

Yet again. No Alberto Puig. No Pedrosa or Stoner to bitch about.. Add Suppo, Tardozzi and many others to that list.

Oooh Very Nice

Bootlegger - excellent post! All I would add is that the Puig haters are media followers and don't have a clue. If he was that evil would HRC still have him on the pit wall????????? Twats.....

Great to see Lucio mention the 06 Turkish GP twice yet not once did he claim Stoner theoretically "won" the GP and complain that Stoner was robbed because the mean men at Michelin were giving Casey second rate tyres. Great ride that day but........... he lost. Neither Casey nor Lucio are hypothesizing about it nor should anyone else.

Ciao Mama's!

Bootlegger answer to your question I'll go with what you said in reference to your questions nothing against Dani as a rider it is just his manager I hate after them comments he made about NH stealing his riders settings.

Puig is a c*nt. Was a twat when he was a rider, and is an even bigger twat now. Little Dani is his bitch, yeah he can ride but he is a humourless, whining like Spanish mummy's boy who doesn't like it up him (apart from when Alberto is ramming him....)

Bring back Doohan.....

How can that be its more like the whole of HRC was against him and they gave Nicky no support instead of favouring the rider who won the title for them they favoured Dani more and then like I have mentioned Puig whining like the clown we know he is saying Hayden stole Dani's settings and more worse saying NH does not know how to develop a bike.
