Speeding

If the speed was 110mph then they could be looking at loss of licence (depending on circumstances and any mitigating info). Were they stopped at the time and what did the copper say? If the copper said it will be reviewed for going to court then your mate has effectively got a notice of intended prosecution (NIP) and will just have to wait for the court date.

The alternative if he was stopped at the time would be a fixed penalty notice but he would have gotten that at the time and the speed is a bit to high for this to be likely.

If he wasn't stopped at the time then he should get a NIP wihtin 2 weeks of the offence outlining what his options are (ie court or fixed penalty).

If it's going to court tell them to speak to a lawyer.

110 mph means court and a probable ban.  And these will be particularly severe if he was caught anywhere other than in a 70.  The length of ban and size of fine will depend on how good his mitigating case, if he has one, is put to the court.  My advice would be to get the best lawyer he can afford on the case at the earliest opportunity.

Try and get his boss or something to say he needs his licence for his job... and take it on the chin!
