Cal Crutchlow escapes injury in high-speed test crash

Cal Crutchlow has walked away from a high-speed fourth gear crash in the early stages of today’s MotoGP test session at the Catalunya circuit in Spain. The British rider was on only his second fast lap when he lost the front of his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 YZR-M1 machine at Turn 4. CCTV images beamed into the media centre showed debris spread...

T.sykes should be given a chance in motogp , the blokes on fire at the moment .

That was also said about Toseland at the time.

Cal is doing solid job atm: front rows in quali and 'generally' showing a good race pace. He has 3Aliens, Spies(despite his current problems!!!) and Dovi in his way. For Cal to have a couple of 4ths already is, imo, bloody good. The second season is generally regarded as tougher than the first so he/we/Tech3 should all be happy.

Glad he got away with cuts and bruises today and nothing more.

We are racing 1000cc bikes , not those fickle 800cc bikes . The 1000s are going to suit the wsb boys far more than the 800s , and cal is prooving that.......

Only one problem , that world champ wasnt quite on the ball last sunday .

We just dont want to see the bloke start crashing week in , week out......trying to keep up with the rest of the pack .

you wouldnt want to be crutch right now , would you . trying to keep everyone happy , including himself .

Agree with 'Benny'.

The thou's 'in theory/Elbowz World' should be right up Ben's street. A big fella who's used to big cc's. Unfortunately things don't always pan out. Maybe there's a good shout for WSB riders to jump into the top paddock ............................but try to explain that to Bradl (and many more to follow). Most of the recent champs/factory riders have come from the 'second tier' of the same paddock. Not many from WSB have got a sniff.

I cant see much change in the future tbh.

Just becouse.....

Bens season hasnt gone well , dosent mean that the WSB boys wont be competitive . look at cal , BSB , WSS champ , WSB.......and he is at the pointy end .

Bens having problems at the moment . This could be down to him , or the team , or even both .

That was only Bradl 5th race , you can hardly use him as a bench mark .

At the moment , i would employ a WSB rider before a MOTO2........   , but my opinion might change later on .

I personally can't see anyone from WSB being better than anyone in Moto2 bud. WSB is now a 'former MotoGp riders pension' (Elephants Graveyard?)  and any young 'upstarts/the future' are in Moto2.

Name the last Blue Riband Champ who rose from 'Superbikes'. It was a while ago.

Benny.

1.At the moment  Moto2 bikes are slower than WSS bikes , Moto2 dosent even run carbon brakes!! , they also lack power . Hardly the best stepping stone up to Motogp .

2. Remember this is the 1st year of the 1000s , and there are only 2 riders from WSB  racing in the Motogp class . 1 of them is having problems , the other is right at the sharp end . Plus the bloke at the sharp end is WSS champ , not a WSB champ , does that not tell you something .

3. How many riders from Moto2 have made a any  impact in motogp since the 600 4st era started?.....none!

4. Right now , out of all the brits , T.sykes is top dog , and the only " youth "  worth a look at . Okay , maybe hes not the only one .

5. 500s , 800s , 990s......that was back then , this is now . If you are looking for names , well , like you said - " that was a while ago " .
