Poll: What do you think of ITV4's TT coverage?

With Whitham, Plater, Parrish and super-slow-motion cameras, you can't deny ITV have put some effort into their TT coverage. What do you think of it? Don't forget to add your comment after the poll  pollcomment

As one of those old enough to remember when the coverage was zilch and any mention on TV or radio was the exception, what is on ITV4 is pretty dam good, yea sure there's waffle just like there is on any other motorsports program.

it's fantastic that there's now some coverage. As others have said there never used to be any!

Fantastic coverage, we are lucky that there is any at all, the slow mo footage is amazing and the commentary by Whit and Co is good.

It's better than nothing, but obviously I'd like to see more. And I also wish they'd drop Stavros. He's a crap commentator at the best of times, but when you add that to his constant "when I was racing here" it's beyond a joke. Given the tedious drawn out coverage ITV4 give to some sports I'm sure they could give more to the TT. When you consider the mindless ennui of a complete Tour de France stage I can't see why they can't give full coverage of individual races.

Well put. MCN is a specialist motorcycling publication and yet their sporting coverage is patchy at best. Even their TT reporting is a bit thin and at times very slow in coming.

ITV4 TT coverage

It was good but could have been better had it had the same time coverage as that French tennis program which took up many hours of my wasted time, but still better than none at all.

One Negative Comment.

The coverage improves every year and this year is no exception. Some of the camera work is awesome and the super slo-mo particularly good. The only thing that spoiled it for me is the Sky HD channels loss of lip-sync. It is fine on ITV4 terrestrial and the non-HD Sky channel but they are doing something which delays the vision by a few frames on HD. Fortunately this doesn't matter for the racing which is excellent.

ITV4's Coverage

HD pictures are awesome and the super slow-mo or high motion shots are deeply impressive.

A couple of gripes is that the programmes are not long enough and have too many adverts in them and not enough race action, but that is a personal choice. Last one, they switch camera's and riders too much, you just get into a really good couple of bends say with John McGuiness at union mills are and all of a sudden they switch to James Hillir on top of the mountain.

Other than that it's pretty good.

Very Good Coverage

I can understand why ITV can't show the races live, not just because of a potential nasty crash but also because it could reduce the number of visitors. Anyway I'm stuck at work while the racing takes place so I couldn't watch it live. James Whitham is the best commentator. I agree with earlier comments that Steve Plater isn't very experienced but he's OK when doing the summary pieces. Less waffle and more coverage of the actual race would be welcomed and perhaps extending the programme to 1.5 or 2 hours. Surely it wouldn't cost any more to make the programme by including some more race footage? The sidecar race didn't get much coverage on Thursday's programme (I know the race was delayed and couldn't be shown on Wednesday) which adds more weight to longer programmes. Overall it's great that there's a daily highlights programme for those of us that can't get to the Isle of Man.

Lacking

What was shown was fantastic, but not enough of it, but then again i could watch it every evening 7 days a week. Reassuringly dangerous treat in this heath & safety crazy world..
