WSB Misano Superpole: Sykes claims Superpole number five

Tom Sykes secured a brilliant Superpole win at Misano after dominating the second twenty minute session this afternoon. The factory Kawasaki rider cruised through Superpole 1 after making big changes to his ZX-10R to cope with the hot track conditions and was the man in total control in Superpole 2. At one stage he enjoyed a full second advantage to...

tyre life

they are getting there, the green meanies.... taken a while though.  (thinking back to PERFORMANCE BIKE MAG , SOMETIME IN 97' ,  talking about the attention to detail of the team ' even the chain is green'      yeah......that helped a lot.

Not to worry about Super Pole

If you look at the real practice sessions it looks like normal service tomorrow during the races with Rea looking the best out of the lot. Best wishes to Johnny mixing it up with the old ex GP racers again.

Looks like Hopper has totally lost his mojo??? Oh well maybe Leon can get the gixxer a top ten.

The two top riders in the series have got the two top positions on the grid Hopefuly Toms tyres will last out, possible double win for Rae? , Excellent result for Badovini in third. You still cant write of Malandri, Checca or Biaggi though. WSB is certainlly alot more unpridictable than MOTOGP. Should be a couple of cracking races tomorrow .Look on with envy MOTOGP

It's a real pleasure watching Sykes ride a bike, the way he wrenches the front end into a corner deep on the brakes and fires it out of a corner sideways. It's a very brave way of riding and makes the tedious necessity of qualifying worth watching. Pity that it means that his tyres last about 3 minutes on race-day ... damned control tyre rules.

Control tyres aren't the problem. There's only so much punishment a tyre can take.
