British MotoGP: Valentino Rossi unhurt in fast qualifying crash

Valentino Rossi will start tomorrow’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone from 10th place on the grid after he walked away unscathed from a high-speed crash in a rain disrupted qualifying session. The 33-year-old lost the front-end of his factory GP12 as soon as he touched the brakes approaching the Vale chicane while he tried to improve on his time of 2.05.416. Rossi...

'Benny'....always up4 making us all laugh!

I was JUST about to say the exact same thing Simon!  What is it with these bludie 'keyboard warriors'  that make them think they know more than a 9 times world champion about riding a motorcycle. For example; how the law of physics act on the bike and how they react to the riders input, they wouldn't have a hope in hell of riding, let alone understanding one. I hate to burst your ignorance bubble mate, but I doubt a A GP Prototype behaves like your Honda CB90 mate so pipe down eh!! And to your reply, who are you to judge which one is right in that case?

Which one is right?

I don`t know. And neither do you.

They had separate crashes it wasn`t the same crash.

I think you might be over analysing things a little too much. Pointless speculation on something about which you or I can know virtually nothing about.
Just enjoy the race on Sunday and chill.

Both of them are right

Rossi never actually says he lost the front as soon as he touched the brakes, that's the editorial - same as it says he slid for several metres when he actually covered 100 metres faster on his arse than Usain Bolt can on his feet.

On TV you can see the front of Rossi's bike over the hump and then bang - down.

Hayden was also on the brakes when it went, but couldn't see if he went off on the same bump or not. Neither was off a soon as they touched the brake.

Mind you, if he's confused, he has a right to be the way his head smacked the tarmac.

Can't be the tyre

It's far safer than the old one

Ask Buel.

Running over a hedgehog...

thats not what I'm referring to is it... listen to yourself...  "But Rossi says that he lost grip as weight transferred off the front wheel - this is impossible", "So Nicky blames an over-loaded front tyre, while Rossi blames a bump in the track - he's totally confused".   jeeez yourself, you dont have to flick through trying to find insightful, intelligent speculation to just find a***holes like you with too much of an opinion and not enough intellect or technical knowledge to support them. is that better for you? why dont u actually reply to what i'm saying to you

It is good to hear that Vale escaped unhurt after that heavy fall.

Got distracted

By the banter, however...

Looked to me when I watched it, pretty much as Rossi later described it. Whilst braking, front unloaded over bump and locked - crash. Front unloading and locking over bumps happens in the car on bumpy wet roads and happens all the time off-road (without the crash) due to nature of the terrain. So what happened didn't seem unatural, just unfortunate.

Hayden, not sure what caused it but seems he is blaming the tyre. Maybe it's the first time they've used it in such cold conditions and maybe it isn't as good in those as it has been at warmer tracks

Where's Buel with the inside info when you need him.
