British MotoGP: Lorenzo extends championship lead with win

Factory Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo extended his lead at the top of the championship with a dominant win at Silverstone today. Lorenzo got off to a slow start, as team-mate Ben Spies took to the lead ahead of Stoner and pole sitter Alvaro Bautista. It wasn't until lap seven that Lorenzo started to make his way to the front. Lorenzo had a...

Great ride by Jorge and an entertaining race.. A strong performance from Cal in context though Dovi was unlucky.. 'Take jorge out and it'd be a honda whitewash' the honda clearly the best bike on that analysis.... Nicky getting the maximum out of the ducati 7th, Rossi his worst race of the season by some way in terms of race pace 9th.. Ducati the new BSA.. The grid is bad shape. Fighting your way from the back while admirable isn't the job it used to be, Cal overtook the first 8 on the first lap on pure acceleration followed by 2 more crts and two guys who were having a nightmare weekend.. Rossi needs his own team next year(not ducati) with a teammate.. I'm all for Dorna changing the rookie rule so that new riders spend the first season on a ducati( they become the rookie bike with Dorna dollars) Every single one of them would be quicker and would probably be a better rider for it... Marlbor can put some of their much needed sponsorship into an extra Yam team whilst Rossis team takes two Hondas but most definitely doesn't go to Case and Dani for development tips after the last few races.. Motogp fixed... cal me Dorna on 0001 its easy on paper..

Agree with you, hugelean

1. Rossi needs development tips

"Take jorge out and it'd be a honda whitewash' the honda clearly the best bike on that analysis"

2. So Casey and Dani are apparently developing it well.

Brilliant race plenty to watch throughout the race. Lorenzo smooth as usual. Cal has got some guts and definitely the skills. Shame for Dovi. Shame for Tech Trois, I think their riders would have put massive pressure on the factory hondas. Honestly thought it could have been a Yamaha 1, 2, 3 today. Yamaha a beautiful bike to watch. Still reckon Honda will get stuck in and come up with a fix before long.

A Yamaha whitewash for the first time since 2008 would have been something just to rub them fools Hondas faces in the dirt even more YAMAHA RULES feck off HRC.

Cal & Ben

Cal is proving to be a great rider and now sits 4th in the Championship. He could be a title contender in years to come. He needs to get a podium and win a race. How different is his bike to Ben's.

Apparently the difference is the engine

which is one "generation" behind that of the works bikes.

LORENZO

Another fantastic result for Lorenzo Lorenzos definately is the rider of this generation. Smooth, skillful,He can set up a bike and can also mix it. above all he doesnt crack under pressure. Casey rode well but the cracks are appearing. Just like Rossi he is blaming the bike . the only difference is the honda is the best bike out their while the Ducati is the worst prototype. Felt sorry for Dovi but an excellent race by Cal
