British MotoGP: Casey Stoner worried by Honda pace

Casey Stoner says he is more worried about the pace of his Honda RC213V machine than he is about falling 25-points behind Jorge Lorenzo after a third straight defeat in yesterday’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Stoner was leading at the Northamptonshire track until the halfway stage when Lorenzo powered his factory Yamaha YZR-M1 machine into first and the Spaniard went...

I think what we are saying is that the lap times don't support stoners claim that the tyre was destroyed in lap five. Just look at the link at his and others times.

Okaaaaay... ?

Right... so he was just as good at tyre management as Lorenzo, the race winner... which was crap, as Wosi says.

Wosi - "Who said anything about Lorenzo looking after his tyres?"

Parris - "I think what we are saying is that the lap times don't support stoners claim that the tyre was destroyed in lap five."

But Wosi is now saying both rider's tyres were... or is he?

We're all saying that from the lap times Stoner showed no significant drop-off in comparison to JL... yeah? Are we saying his tyres were as good/bad as JL's in which case his tyre management wasn't to blame for his 2nd placing?... or are we saying he did destroy his tyres & he was just riding round the problem? Parris, you don't seem to be implying the same thing as Wosi.

Sorry mate. You are so lost. You just don't seem to get the basic. You seem to get very confused. In the other thread, you couldn't even remember that the tyre at issue was the front and you started talking about and quoting riders about the front and rear. I don't think I can help you any further. Best of luck with it.

Christ you stink of fish Wosi

all those red herrings you throw around willy nilly.

Stoner a 35 time winner in the premier class knows nothing about tyre management. Ha ha ha. Fuck you're pathetic.

There hasn't been any tyre wear since 2006. The BS tyres were always fastest at the end of the race and never went off, you could do a 100 laps on them and Casey always used the hardest one..Seems this year it will be about who can adapt quickest to proper tyres...and Casey appears to be back to his front end tyre woes of 2006) Only he's clearly a much more complete rider now.

Wosi...

"Is it a surprise that Speez and Stoner - Ben maybe justifiably - the two riders complaining hardest about tyre degradation, went off fastest?"

Ah... so we're getting there.. you're saying Stoner was crap at tyre management!... but, as you said, his lap times didn't show a drop-off in comparison with JL. So he was riding quite successfully around the problem... unfortunately for him is was only good enough for 2nd.

"Cheeky...or dismissive, believing he could ride around any tyre issues in the race?"

Oh... I'm lost again...

Sorry Parris... you can see the obvious contradictions & I can fully understand why you find it difficult to explain. Thanks for your efforts though.

I'm with wosi on this one

Casey was able to manage a gap a couple of times early in the season - when they were all playing the old game of fast-as-you-can.  I think Lorenzo and Pedrosa's "bad" starts are nothing of the sort and  wonder how long it is before Casey works it out.  He should just follow Lorenzo and have a crack at the end since that's pretty much guaranteed to be the battle for first these days.

That said, there have been races this year were the tyre degradation hasn't been drastic.  It might be a case of needing different race strategies for different compounds.

Nice to see even David Emmet at MM thinks you are a tool.

Emmet is bang on bout you and your comments "allows his prejudice to blind him to the situation. You are welcome to post dissenting comments, but keep your insults to yourself." Your comments aren't intelligent just pure shiiit.

Even if Stoner didn't have as much of a problem with chatter, I doubt he'd fare any better against Lorenzo this year as he doesn't have the speed advantage that Honda had over Yamaha last year. 2011 just reminds me of 2007 when Stoner also had a big speed advantage and now normal service has resumed. Maybe Stoner realizes this and that's why he's retiring, Lorenzo is just too good for him.

Calm down my boy

I find it less stressful if you just ignore the blatent baiting and re-arranging of facts to suit the contradictory arguments.  I mean - would you interrupt a dog licking its own balls?

Speaking of the sin of Onan ... does anyone here think that Bridgestone are doing a good job at providing a consistent product that improves safety?  Go on - make my day!
