If Cal goes to Ducati it will(my opinion) set the tone for the rest of his career. I cant possibly see how he can prove that he is a top level rider on the Ducati. He will struggle,lose confidence and because he seems to have a big heart, hurt himself. No factory team will take him seriously and they appear to be at the moment. i feel he will lose all momentum.

Mind you if he wants the pay to set himself up for life at the expense of success go for it
