No Tech 3 return for Ben Spies in 2013

Ben Spies won’t be making a move back to the Tech 3 Yamaha if Cal Crutchlow or Andrea Dovizioso land the Texan’s place in Yamaha’s official factory squad for 2013. With Jorge Lorenzo signed on a new two-year deal, Yamaha is now considering its options for the second rider in its factory team, with Spies still hotly-tipped to keep his place...

Yes it would be awesome to see Yamaha on the WSBK grid. Shawno Spies has already partnered Sykes and beat him too on the Yamaha not just that but also took the title in one attempt :). But yes it would be interesting to see them team up again on another manufacturer. Yes you are correct in saying it would be ACE not just but STUNNING too.

Dovi 17 podiums 5 years of conistent top five finishes and pushing the factory honda on a satellite Yam

Spies 6 podiums in 2 and half years and going backwards every round and getting nowhere on the best bike out there and being shown up by Crutchlow as well

No, think Me and Bennyhedgehog are abit nearer the mark in our ascessment of talent than you mate.

Here we are, six race in and people are calling for Ben Spies ride to go to other riders. Who are they? Haters of Americans, possibly?

No, just realists. What is this "haters" shite that's so popular on internet forums these days? It's just a tool for sidestepping the argument. Don't agree with me? Well just reply with that jaded cliche "haters gonna hate". It will never win an argument.

You idea that a rider's CV is all that matters is nonsense (and yes it's a curriculum vitae not a resume). There's an old saying in racing that you're only as good as your last race. That is an oversimplification, but it gets the point across. There is no doubt that Spies has a better bike than Dovi and Cal, but equally there was no doubt that Dovi and Cal rode better than Spies in the race final positions notwithstanding. Spies should be beating Dovi and Cal in every race. He isn't. His form this year has been terrible and if he can't ride now there's no evidence that he will suddenly start winning races next week, let alone next year. If you think that his fifth on Sunday was a sign of his return to form ask yourself this: Had Crutchlow not started from the back of the grid would Spies still have beaten him? Cal was riding a slower bike with a broken ankle and started from the back row. After one lap Cal was five and a half seconds down on Spies with lots of traffic between them. At the flag he was two seconds closer.

Your focus on front row starts is also puzzling. Have front row starts started scoring points? Let's look at Sunday's race. Spies started from the front row and finished fifth 11 seconds behind the winner. Cal started from the back and finished sixth only three and a half seconds back. Neatly proves that front row starts can't be all that important.

Things get even worse for you if we bring Rossi into things. Your argument that the rider with the better CV should get the ride surely comes down heavily in favour of Rossi.

To summarize: Your argument is that of a drowning man clutching at straws.

Last year

Cal was Muchtooslow. This year the Brits are using propaganda warfare. If you say something repeatedly you tend to think its true. We Americans know talent, we have Motogp wins, Motogp World Championship, we don't need to fake it. Brits will hang all their shit on a man getting 2 fourth places amd make you think he is better. Drought can make you see mirages. The Brits see one on the horizon. It will soon vanish though.
