No factory bike at Tech 3 for Cal Crutchlow

Yamaha won’t offer Cal Crutchlow full factory support if he remains with its satellite Tech 3 squad in 2013. The British rider has told Tech 3 boss Herve Poncharal that the perfect scenario for his future would be to remain with the French-based satellite squad, but receive a full factory spec YZR-M1. For that to happen though would necessitate a major shift...

Well spotted, thought there was one lurking there somewhere, experienced GP rider before that though, not a true wildcard in the sprit of things

No surprise there.

He plans further talks with senior Yamaha management in Assen next weekend to see whether he is a serious contender to replace Ben Spies on a factory YZR-M1 next to Jorge Lorenzo.

One of the most coveted seats in MotoGp. Bring home the bacon Cal then Yamaha 'may' look your way. Cal's had good season so far (2nd year at this level) but there's still a hell of a lot of racing to go.

I'd wait a few more races then sign up with Ducati Cal if Yamaha won't come to the party.

Kocinski

Little John said "If you aint American , you aint shit" the corollary to that is "If you are american you are shit" Having said that Kocinski was great and so is Spies , just needs to get his head together

Cal / Ducati

It would be a big mistake for Cal to go to Ducati it s not a world beater the yamaha is . He s beaten the Ducati most races why go to a slower bike .

Why go to Ducati? Because Cal may not have anywhere else. Is Cal going to win the MotoGP title with Tech3? no. Will Cal win the title with Ducati? unlikely/who knows. But he will have far greater resources behind him with Ducati than he ever will with Tech3 and a much greater chance as well as a pay packet to go with it.

And this assumption that the Ducati will be a career killer for Cal is just that - an assumption. We could be in for the biggest surprise next year if Cal goes to Ducati for all we know he might gel with the bike perfectly and be a regular on the podium.
