Assen MotoGP: Barbera cost me front row, says Cal Crutchlow

British rider Cal Crutchlow blasted Spanish rival Hector Barbera for costing him the chance to score a fourth front row start of 2012 at the historic Assen circuit in Holland this afternoon. Crutchlow looked on course to secure at least third place on the grid on his final lap of a rain disrupted qualifying session when he came across Barbera slowing...

Typical PR Bullshyte

"He is an idiot. This guy is an arse."

Wish Cal would open up and let us know what he really thinks.

I like this kind of honesty (brutal), but it's not going to score any points with the factory HR and PR departments.

Edit: And he is correct about Barbera.

Double standards - again ...

Riders dawdling on the racing line is both frustrating & dangerous. Race Control has been very lax in their lack of oversight & policing & disciplining this in recent years.

No fair person could fail to be struck by something here: - it seems it is quite AOK for Cal Crutchlow ( and numerous others too) to complain, criticise & slag-off another rider for this "sin" - even "amusing" - but it never has been viewed in the same light by the more ignorant alleged "fans" when the sinned-against has been Casey Stoner. Whenever Stoner has complained about exactly the same thing wrecking fast laps or almost causing collisions - this was classed as mere baseless "moaning" ... But then - Stoner has always been held to a totally different standard by the Zombie hordes in their weird & delusional parallel Universe where black is white & vice-versa.

Stoner was so jack of it at one juncture, that he administered a light "slap" on the upper arm/shoulder to Randy De Puniet (another serial offender, along with Barbera) on his way past. This generated "outrage" amongst all the pre-pubescent little girls & autistic young boys that infest MCN. Oh, the horror - the sheer pornographic "violence" of it - should be a Law, they all squawked & shrieked. One wonders it Cal had done the same to Barbera - would he have been hailed as the best Brit Great White Hope since Henry Cooper or Joe Bugner !!!
Somehow, a half-hearted "fly-swat" on the arm from a sub-60 KG Bantam-sized GP racer morphed into & was compared to a full-on right cross to the jaw from the likes of ‘Smokin Joe Frazier from these hopelessly biased & “girly” keyboard warriors who wouldn’t know a real fight from a hole on the ground!

Of course, this brush with a small piece of damp, limp lettuce cost Stoner a large-ish fine. Talk about raging hypocrisy, total failure & negligence by Race Control - a case of shutting & gilding the stable door well after the horse had left the equine premises.

It really is a funny, old World - isn't it?

Cheers

@aquarius

You've been left to preach to the choir here.  The haters cleared off the MCN forums straight after qualifying.  Weird.

Yeah, it is hilarious that the next rider to come along with the same personality traits that the Poms blasted Casey for, turns out to be a Pom.  Too funny.

And let's be honest, Cal makes himself a far bigger target than Casey ever did (earplugs up the nose ... again, etc.).

But it was never really about Casey's personality, health, or punches on de Puniet.  It's because he came, he saw, he kicked Rossi's arse.

Well said Aqua man and Tetsuo. I wonder how many MCN posters are going to start calling Cal a whiny little moaner. He is of course correct about Hector and other riders as well. Too many riders out there screw up other people's laps by not getting off the racing line when they are on cool down laps. When Stoner complained about this in the past it's because he is a 'little whiny moaner'. Yet the same guys cheered whenever Simonchelli T-boned one of his co-riders off the track with his devil-may-care idiot passes.

You don't think

this sport is dangerous enough without unnecessary contact?

If Simoncelli was given a second chance at life, he'd either be the cleanest rider you've ever seen or would realise that this sport is already borderline insane and wouldn't ride at all.

No I dont

He was a true rider and i dont think he would change a thing, dont get me wrong i dont think they should be doing it trying to take each other out, you just have to look at the Rossi vs Stoner or Rossi vs Lorenzo proper battles infact Rossi vs Stoner there was no contact but realy close edge of the seat racing

Rossi v Lorenzo Motegi 2010 battle for the last place on the podium the contact there could have taken the team mates out Vale proving a point who is leader at Yamaha did not go down well with Jorge as he went down to the bosses of Yamaha accusing Rossi of dangerous riding.
