Assen MotoGP: Vinales wins hard fought Moto3 battle

Spaniard Maverick Vinales has increased his championship lead after taking a hard fought victory in an incredible battle with championship rival Sandro Cortese. Cortese finished second, with team-mate Danny Kent finishing third, in a photo finish with Luis Salom. Kent crossed the line just 0.001 seconds ahead of Salom. With ten laps to go the leading group of six riders were all in...

why do we bother watching MotoGP when the '3 boys serve up treats like this?!  classic race, hard fought with four riders dicing up to the last corner, top class.  give Danny Kent some decent machinery and he does the business - he did it last season when he got Folgers superior RSA bike and he did it again today.  keep up the good work!

Cortese didn't like it one bit did he. Was over the top on some of his moves, especially against Kent at one point.

Tennis?

Best race of the weekend again by far. At least everybody got to see it this time because it wasn't the last race. However the BBC chose not to screen it again. Interesting isn't it that if you order the races in terms of excitement then you have Moto3, Moto2 then MotoGP (and tennis is somewhere behind watching a mechanic polish Rossi's fairing). Furthermore it looks like we have much more chance of a brit winning a race in Moto2 and Moto3 than MotoGP (and no chance of a brit winning Wimbledon). The BBC, however, would rather show us a bunch of pundits talking about tennis than the most exciting race of the year so far in any world championship.
