Sachsenring MotoGP: Dani Pedrosa victorious after late drama

Dani Pedrosa’s love affair with Germany’s Sachsenring track continued today after the Spaniard survived intense pressure from Repsol Honda team-mate Casey Stoner to win for the first time since last October. There was late drama in the 30-lap race as reigning world champion Stoner crashed out of second at the penultimate corner. But take nothing away from Pedrosa, who set the fastest...

"he would never be able to push that fast without it getting away form him"

He used to... 50% of the races they both finished (Wosi's stats don't lie)... unless... perhaps you can lose talent like that over a couple of years...

Why isn't casey finish races thirty seconds in front of everyone all the time.

For the 2nd time, where have I said he would be? I don't follow your logic... from history we know that in 2010 alone he made the Ducati as competitive as any bike out there... he managed it 3 times for a win... 9 times for podiums... obviously he crashed a lot trying to do that but he could ride a bike that still is one of the fastest bikes on the grid. Too many crashes & not enough wins = 4th. Why does it follow that he should be winning every race by 30 seconds?

I'm not saying he'd win the championship... I'm not actually saying he'd win a single race 'cos we have no idea whether he would... you made the statement... your argument in trying to prove it doesn't hold up because there's actually more evidence to say otherwise (thanks Wosi).

Wosi... thanks again...

Ok... Stoner DNF'd 2 times more than Hayden... yeah... so that's 3 of your 30 minuter's gone... or 3x(however many mins it was) to Stoner. your point is? Yep crashes do count & thanks for making that point... so 5 of the 10 times they finished together plus 3 crashes... cool. Hayden may have 2 crashes on Stoner but it's not his performance we're questioning.

Now instead of 5 races we have 8 where Stoner either did or, as you've just pointed out, could have finished 15 or more seconds ahead of Hayden... thanks again.

If we gave casey 15 seconds on nicky on a 2012 duke he would have 2 podiums and be on 100 points.

trouble is in 2010 in the the first 5 races casey crashed twice, nicky once and the other 2 races nicky beat casey.

At sachensring casey would have been 5th and at catalunya he would have beaten himself on the hrc.

so do youself a favour, give up on quoting stats they are meaningless unless the riders are in the same team riding the same bike.

If you take stoners advantage over nicky in 2010 over the 18 rounds it averages 11 seconds.another useless stat.

Seriously mate if casey is that superior he should be able to be on pole by a over a second from anyone else at each race now on the honda. If casey is as good as you say. He should now on his honda finish thirty seconds in from of second place each race. Do you still think Casey is a second a lap faster thank everyone else. Do you think casey brings to his team and the bike an extra second a lap when he sits on it and rides. Total BS. No rider brings an extra second a lap to a bike.

Yup... ok, not gonna check your calcs, but you might wanna factor in some crashes.

Oop... yeah, you have... & when Hayden beat Stoner it was by how much? I'm not trying to prove Hayden couldn't ride or that Stoner didn't crash... just that saying Stoner was significantly faster than Hayden at Ducati. Had he also been significantly faster on the 2012 bike where would he be at the end of the season... how many wins? It's not proof but Parris can't come up with any counter argument. Why would he have lost the ability to be that much better than Hayden in 2 years?

"At sachensring casey would have been 5th and at catalunya he would have beaten himself on the hrc."

Wow that is mixing some stats... I think...
