Sachsenring MotoGP: Casey Stoner makes last lap blunder

Casey Stoner blew a golden chance to seize the outright lead in the MotoGP world championship yesterday when he crashed out of contention for victory at Germany’s Sachsenring track on the final lap. The Australian was bracing himself for a last corner attack on Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa but he lost the front of his factory RC213V machine two corners...

The truth about Ducati reveiled, engineered backwards since 2008 and no chance of winning unless your stupid enough to risk serious injury.

Or ballsy enough to take the challenge and deserve your pint at the end of the day. It tastes so much better after a hard days graft.

If I was a marshal, I wouldn't help Casey out either. He'd just complain that your not pushing hard enough.

Logic vs Hate

Argiebargie92 - an apt name.  A double '46 wanker.

Stoner blamed no-one for his mistake but himself - he even made a joke about it at his own expense.

Now I haven't seen the footage post crash, and suspect neither have you, but if we take Casey's word for it (cue for the fucknuckles to spit their normal vitriol) the story was that he was not only given no assistance to get back on track, but was "pushed" away from his bike.

Now I don't personally blame the marshalls for doing so because it is a fast corner with possibly no safe place to re-enter the track - particularly on the last lap with rain starting to fall.  What I believe would eliminate the riders being aggrieved about the lack of assistance is a general policy about what will and won't be done.  This could include specific rules for certain corners which are deemed unsafe for re-entry, and even specific points on the circuit that must be used for that purpose.

But overall this is a minor issue that is just being used by the usual muppets for a bit of Stoner-bashing.  I suppose if it stops them watching kiddie-porn for a few minutes then it may be a useful thing, but it bores the life out of real motorcycle fans.
