Dani Pedrosa signs new Repsol Honda contract

Spaniard Dani Pedrosa has signed a new two-year deal to remain with Honda’s official factory MotoGP squad until the end of 2014. As MCN reported two weeks ago, HRC announced Pedrosa’s new deal during the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello this morning. Pedrosa, who claimed his first victory of 2012 during last weekend’s Sachsenring race in Germany, will be joined by rising...

On his day he's fast , but he can also be erratic, also just seen on the moto gp website that Marquez will be his team mate ,so that leaves 1 yamaha spare, if Yamaha sign spies, then Rossi is f....d & will have to stay at Ducati

Pedrosa

Good partner for Marquez and the best number two rider on the grid. After the Casey Stoner retirement 'bombshell' is anybody else dissapointed by how little it has shaken up the grid?

Watch out Dani Marc is coming for you. As for that one Yamaha seat which is left that is going to Spies its more to do with the American market and them wanting an American on the Yamaha which I am pleased about Rossi will be stuck on the Ducati both Japanese factories have turned down Rossi.

That's the way ah huh ah huh...

The tunnel visioned terror of Cervera could be a real asset to Dani's title hopes next year! While Marquez practices his erratic but fast style in the same dangerous manner as the recent crop of 250 graduates (Simo, Alvaro and HannaBarbera), Dani should be able to have his best shot in a few years at getting the gong.

Might even turn out well for Florence! With the young Spaniard's potential for skittling a few of the quicker bikes, it might leave this years biggest reject a few places higher up. Why fight for positions? Exactly how Flo likes it!

I wonder who is umber one or number two. Is marques as good as Lorenzo cause Lorenzo cleaned up in his first year.

Well done Peddy.

Although I predicted he'd be booted I am pleased Pedrosa is staying.  He's just shutting his mouth, ignoring all external trouble and taking the fight to Stoner & Lorenzo.  Deserved.  Again, we all said Spies would be booted too but it appears that US market and it's hench of greenbacks screams louder that we thought.  Which leaves Rossi and Crutchlow at Ducati.  Rossi saying he'll give them a chance means "No-one else wants me, thankfully Ducati still do" (and yes, admire Rossi, but that's the way it is right now at 33).  Next season will rock.

Reckon its more a case of he wouldn't go back and he's won the battle with Presiozi.. Has done everything that can be done at both yam and honda. Ducati's turn now that Presiozi's wsbk mentality is out of the way..

What championship did Lorenzo clean up in during his first year as it certainly wasn't MOTOGP.

He did win a couple of races but that is no way "cleaning up" !

On another level Honda won't win the title in 2013/14 as Pedrosa will never win the title and Marc will need a year or two and be extra special to do it.

Getting ahead of ourselves ?

Pedrosa is right in the zone to take 2012 and is perfectly capable. Smart move by HRC. Smart last lap by Pedrosa a week back.

WC?

Can't see Ped ever taking top honors in MotoGP, Lorenzo has him consistantly beaten and if he hadn't been taken out at Silverstone wouldn't even be being touted for the title. He is fast but he's too fragile think of when any rider who misses as much of each season as Dani has taken the title. He does it every year. Best example off the top of my head, not certain on the year but think it was 2008 he was leading a championship after Sachenring, binned it the race after, missed 6 weeks felt out of contention so blamed the tyres despite it being the same tyres that had taken him to top of the pile.
